Follicle size

Scan not too good today. One follicle at 17, one at 16 others at 12 so got to stim for a few more days. Anyone else had this and the other follicles catch up xx

Oh bless her! That’s really not a bad scan at all. She’s got a good few follicles so that’s great. And those sizes are good too. Prob just needs a few more days of meds to reach 18mm threshold. You only need 4 to hit 18mm and then they’ll prepare you for EC.

A few of mine are huge which means they’ve overshot. You want nice medium sized ones as they’re more likely to have mature eggs in.

And so many of mine responded in just 2 extra days of meds.

I found a really good IVF app to help me relax during all the different stages. It has helped me during stimming to see it all as a positive process rather than all about injections and feeling uncomfortable and bloated! It’s called “Mindful IVF”.

I didn’t quite have this but I had scan Weds, all going well (2 big ones, 10 medium and 3-4 small) but wasn’t quite ready. Carried on stimming and my scan on Friday showed they’d all grown loads in 2 days. EC booked for Tues! So lots can happen in a few days xxx

She has got a 17,16,11,10 and two 9’s. They have given her stimms for two more days xx

I had this result as well and had to continue stimming for an extra 2 days. I was disappointed as they put me on a much higher dose of menopur on my 2nd cycle so was expecting much better results. My first cycle I got 9 eggs but 2nd cycle only got 4 eggs, I was in tears on day of EC. We had a much better result on 2nd round though and ended up with 2 very good blastocysts. I sometimes wonder if less eggs is better as they have more room to develop or something. Long story short, please tell your daughter not to panic if there are only a few good follicles by the day of EC, you really don't know what the outcome will be until you get to ET day. Anything can happen! Good luck xx

Hospital have just rung her. She has to go again Wednesday for another scan and bloods doing xx

I always seem to have to stim for longer than they seem to expect but have had a decent crop of eggs last two rounds x
