IVF and Endo

Hi all, I’m 35. I have had a myomectomy about 2.5 years ago.

In which they removed a fibroid. I have since developed endo and was diagnosed with a choc cyst which is eating away my right ovary. I also have a bit on the left. I got married 2 years ago. And we have been trying for a child naturally with no luck. I recently found out my AMH dropped. I am going through natural modified IvF and just finished my first cycle. I had one egg. They said at any cycle they can only collect 1-3. Luckily it fertilised but it wasn’t a good embie so they didn’t keep it. I honestly feel gutted.

I just feel I have been through a lot. I would appreciate if anyone had any similar stories and some positive news. I would really appreciate that. I still have another two cycles. I am not giving up but just feel deflated.

Awww! Hi Dear! Well, how are you doing so? I've heard a lot that it works better in later cycles. I'm also having an IVF later this year at Ukraine. But, it will be my first attempt...I've PCOS...So, it's probably the best way for me. Anyway! I wish to have it in the first cycle. I really wish you all the best! You can still get it done in later attempts. So, yeah! All the best dear! xx You can do a lot better in later cycles...

Hi Daernery wishing you the best of luck! I have been reading those with PCOS have many follicles so fingers crossed for you!!! I do hope they look at why this cycle went wrong and cater it. Will defo want to find out more details especially if it was polyspermy

Hi Minichoo. No definitely don't give up - easy for me to say. Just wondered whether they have any thoughts on the chocolate cyst? Hope they've learned lots about you during this cycle, and they can adapt to suit your next one a bit better. Good luck and I shall be thinking of you. Diane

Hi Diane thank you, well they want me to freeze my eggs and then get my endo sorted. But they are playing it by ear and when we cross that bridge. From the sound of things I think I had polyspermy on my first egg as the follicle was only 14.6mm but waiting to hear from the embryologist to confirm. I think my husbands sample was overtly keen. May need to do ICSI. Will wait to hear!

Looks like ICSI could be the way to go. Going to have to harness those sperm, little rogues! It will be interesting to see what happens, something good I hope. Diane xx

Hey Minchoo, you are such a brave lady. I really appreciate this. You had a lot of medical complications but you never lost hope. That's the spirit. Every girl should show such behavior. Well, your first attempt was unsuccessful. Second also proved to be a failure. Them Minchoo why don't you go for surrogacy. You have developed a lot of medical complications within your body. So, it's difficult for you to conceive even through IVF. Look at me. I am having double infertility. Means me and my husband both are infertile. My husband wanted adoption. But I was totally against it. So, we are going for surrogacy next month. Pray for me also. But I must assure you that it's the best procedure for the couples like us who are unable to conceive naturally.

Hi clover I only had one round of IvF and I think my husbands sperm was too powerful. So best option is ICSI perhaps. Will wait for a medical opinion. Surrogacy is something I will certainly look at but first need some eggs!! Thank you wishing you the best and I really hope it works out for you.

Would you consider trying conventional ivf? Sounds like you'll have to go through the natural modified one a few times to be successful

Sanchia my AMH is too low. I will ask them, but for women with low AMH they often just try natural modified.

Ok I'm not well versed in that. At least you've paid for three rounds which will increase your chances

First fresh cycle resulted in a chemical pregnancy and second FET resulted in a BFN. So going for a second fresh round in the summer. All the best x

An update - so the first egg was polynuclei - something about husbands sperm being super effective. So we have to try ICSI. I was reading and in certain parts of Europe ICSI and IVF go hand and hand together as the womb is a hostile environment and normally when the partner ahem - only the best win. Unfortunately that’s not always the case with IVF! So not sure why they don’t recommend it in the first place. Anyway suggest if anyone else had the same issue - to do this! I am off to potentially start my next cycle today. Wish me luck.
