How to get through the next few days calmly

Waitingforourmiracle profile image

Otd is Saturday and even though this is our 3rd round I don't think I've actually been more anxious about a result before. I'm off to work shortly and so hoping working today and tomorrow will help distract me. I'm meant to be working Friday morning but I'm going to as my boss if I can book it off because on my last cycle af arrived the day before my otd and I'm not sure I could cope with that happening at work.

I really don't know which way this cycle is going to go. I've had lots of twinges, sharp pains and lower back pain since transfer so hoping that's a good sign but the symptom I read most about - sore boobs - I just don't have them. I didn't have them on my first cycle when I got my bfp but do most people get them? I want sore boobs ha ha!

Any tips on surviving the next few days much appreciated. I'm listening to the mindful ivf app and positive mantra thing on Spotify too but I just want Saturday to be here now I feel so anxious

Hi,

I think trying to keep busy is all you can do. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t working so I could go and do fun stuff instead.

I’m really caught up with analysing all my symptoms but everyone is different. I’m like that with pain, I want pain to feel something is happening but then when I’ve got it I feel like things are failing. Then when the pain goes I feel like nothings happened! 🤣

My OTD is tomo and this is the longest day ever!

Good luck to you over the next few days. Hope AF does NOT arrive.

Xx

i was about to recommend the ivf mindfulness app & realised it was you who told me about it!

how about going through old digital photos & creating albums? i’ve done a few as presents & it’s so nice to actually see them printed out.

thinking of you & sending all the positive vibes in the world ✨

Hi Waitingforourmiracle. Just wanted to wish you well with this, as I know how anxious we get during the build up to test day. I shall be thinking of you this weekend. Diane

Nope not everyone gets sore boobs so don’t fret, in my successful cycle I had 0 sore boobs in the 2ww all I had was a few stomach cramps for the first few days after transfer and I was a bit more tired (although I do like to sleep a lot anyway ha ha) but that is literally it!! Good luck I hope you get your bfp 😊 xx

Hello! Just thought I’d try reassure you that I’m still waiting for sore boobs after my BFP! Don’t let it fool you, I longed for a sign but actually it just felt like AF and I still don’t ‘feel’ too different other than a bit more hungry and tired. Keep the faith, hoping you get your bfp xxx

It sounds very encouraging! You’ve done so well to get this far. Keep busy I know these days drag and the day before OTD feels the longest ever! We went out for dinner to distract ourselves the night before which helped. 🤞🏻 For you xxx

Good luck for Saturday.

I really have had sore breasts but I do get a them at least a bit most months prior to AF.

Crossing my fingers for you and thinking of you.

We are expecting snow tomorrow so I will be working from home. This means I will have less distraction and more time to agonise over symptoms!

I do like a nap to get through a bit of time and all the typical distraction techniques of films, reading etc. I love a jigsaw puzzle so may start one of those if I’m going to be stuck in the house.

Crossing my fingers for all those testing over the next few days. Xx

I just don't think you can call it when it comes to symptoms. I always get sore boobs before AF so when I didn't one month I thought it had to mean a bfp. Sadly not. Friday off is a good call. I hope you get your bfp on Saturday. Xx

I got sore boobs on my first bfp but on my second it was more that they felt kinda full and heavy. Either way it can just be down to the meds, or even the dreaded af. Just wanted to wish you good luck for Saturday xx

No advice just didn’t want to read and run. The wait is awful and so hard, my sympathy and I hope it all works out for you. Xx
