Migraine prevention

Hello Ladies,

Just wondering if there are any fellow migraine sufferers on here? I am 41 and will be doing long protocol next month with ICSI. I am a bit worried about the hormonal effect on my migraines and was wondering about starting some regular prevention drugs - have stayed away from them so far and just take magnesium and riboflavin along with pregnacare. Is anyone on anything regularly to prevent migraine and what have been people’s experiences of migraine on treatment ?

Thanks in advance

Hey I’m a fellow migraine sufferer 🤯 not sure I have an answer for you- but hoping someone else does?! Unfortunately some of the medication I took for iui treatment didn’t help my migraines and headaches generally. I take prescription medicine for them but always checked with nurses what I could take and when. I am really focusing on relaxation and meditations at the moment (with audio) whilst they might not help for migraines, I do think they help for tension headaches (which are frequent!)

I wish you all the best 😀🤞🌟 xxx

The magnesium and riboflavin has really helped the frequency but just had a run of 3 .... will up my relaxation and do more restorative yoga poses. Thanks for your reply x

Although I’ve only ever had maybe 5 migraines in a lifetime I do get a lot of tension headaches. However I did get bad migraines during down regulating. It’s a common side effect unfortunately. You can take paracetamol but I found that it didn’t touch the sides. Try drinking as much water as possible. The only thing I found that eased it was heat, in the form of a hot water bottle on my head lol xx

Hi SBeanbag. Try not to worry about this as here are alternative medications that can be prescribed that won't affect treatment or pregnancy. Hope all goes well for you. Diane
