So I've been having symptoms ;achey boobs, feeling odd in the morning.

But do far pregnancy tests aren't picking anything up...

Do I stop taking cyclogest so that my period can happen?

Can these be side effects?

Would I be jeopardizing everything? I don't really have enough cyclogest for much longer anyway.. help

How late is your period? I also got a BFN yesterday and I decided to stop taking the cyclogest but I’m also not sure if I did the right thing... it’s made me feel less emotional and for me that’s what I needed over Christmas. I hear some clinics suggest you stop after test day even if you’re pregnant but my clinic said if I got a positive to continue. As I got a BFN I stopped. Sorry not much help here but thought I’d share my thinking, it may be completely wrong though...

Thank you. I'm pretty sure for me I will need to carry on, if I was pregnant. But I don't know if these are just side effects messing with me 😐 I know it sounds silly but only a day late. But last time I had these symptoms I actually was pregnant. So my head is all over the place x

Progesterone can give you these side effects.

It’s hard to tell what stage you are at from your post but in general I would suggest you don’t stop taking any drugs unless your doctor has said you should.

Thank you for your thoughts 😊 x

If you're on cyclogest for a natural cycle, it depends how long you've been taking them. If you're past your 10 days and are getting BFN on HPT then it's probably best to stop and get going for the next cycle. Trust me when I say I completely understand your concern of stopping them. But I think you may have to trust the tests on this one. I tried to look at it from the point of view that if this cycle wasn't successful then I just wanted to get on with the next. Do you have the cyclogest on a prescription from the specialist? If so, your GP should now be able to do a repeat prescription for you. And just because it hasn't worked this month doesn't mean it won't next month. Remember that for a couple without problems, there is only around a 20% chance of getting pregnant each month.

Is this your first month on cyclogest? Your body may need a cycle to get used to the progesterone. If the cyclogest has stopped spotting etc then there is every chance that next month will be the month for you. Good luck xx

Thank you.

The specialist wasn't convinced so only allowed me to have 1 months worth. So I feel under such pressure to make it work. As I may have quite an argument to get more.

But I also worry about messing up my cycle.

Thanks again for your reply x

Oh you poor thing, that's awful that they put so much pressure on one cycle.

Did you have spotting or any other obvious/physical symptoms of your hormone imbalance before this cycle? If the cyclogest stopped those symptoms, that in itself should provide you with the evidence to get it on repeat prescription. When is your next appointment? Xx

My issue is I can't stay pregnant longer that 2.5 weeks. He doesn't seem to have many ideas. I can't see him again till April apparently so yeah it's awful. But thank you again x

I would suggest you only stop taking Cyclogest once you've been advised by your clinic - usually immediately after a BFN, as has happened to me.

Do re-read the drug information leaflet for potential side effects as these may be affecting you. Ring the clinic, GP or the drug manufacturer if you need further information.

Thank you. I'll read again but previously I haven't seen anything about it in the leaflet x

No No one has suggested doing that unless the urine test comes back with anything. But thank you x

Did you get pregnant through ivf or naturally?

I can get pregnant naturally. But keep losing it x

Are you taking cyclogest to prepare for a ivf cycle or is it following ivf treatment? Who prescribed it for you?

The specialist prescribed it. Because I am losing at about 2.5 weeks something is going wrong after fertilization. But we don't know enough because it's only been recordable twice "that I was aware" x
