So my consultant asked me to ring when I had my first period after my MMC which was last Friday, I rang and left a message but had no reply. As the weeks gone on I’ve thought should I ring, shouldn’t I?! Well today I decided to ring to stop taunting myself and turns out I was meant to of been given a message to go this morning for a scan 🤔
Luckily my consultant fitted me in and looks like I’m not ovulating naturally so it will be a medicated FET in the new year. I’ve got another scan Wednesday to be sure but he said he’d of expected to of seen a leading follicle at this stage. He’s also referred me for my hysteroscopy as there’s still free fluid in my uterus - just when I didn’t think I’d be visiting the clinic until the new year! 🤦♀️

It’s seems we are all having hysteroscopy’s this year or early next al flying off to Athens to have mine ✅ from the read up they seem pretty on point and reknowned for what they do.
So here’s hoping 2018 is a 3 in 3 year for us all .
Hey lovely, are you back to your last clinic in Athens again? We are tee-ed up to visit ours in January for some tests and freezing hubby’s sample- in prep for 1st (hopefully only) DE cycle!! This is after my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy next weekend 🤞🏼 xx
Yep going back to the same place. Really have a good feeling with them & they're so thorough compared to our previous experience. So hysteroscopy in Jan then hopefully we can concentrate on our 4 frosties we have in the freezer! Good luck with yhe hystero, let me know hoe you get on! Won't be long till your hols!!👙xx
Definitely I hope 2018 brings lots of little miracles! Yeah my consultant seemed quite pro the hysteroscopy so i thought got to be worth having a look to see what’s going on x
Oh damn it, we always feel bad chasing but Im sure clinics dont mind the odd phone call to chase things along - I work in the NHS and always feel like its better to check things as mistakes do happen. Glad you managed to be fitted in though! Better to get everything checked to ensure you're in tip top shape before doing FET! Im having hysteroscopy in Jan too before I try again!xx
I was almost pulling my hair out with stress and about to cancel the ivf -before it had even started! - just because of the stress of chasing up clinics and doctors.
I was bleeding heavily and was repeatedly told a consultant would call me... and nothing. I waited 48 hours after every ‘promised call’ before chasing them up just so I wouldn’t be seen as being neurotic... took 5days before they called and then I had to stop her constantly to correct her misunderstandings/ assumptions regarding my symptoms. It delayed the ivf and I had to start randomly in my cycle as well as be completely miserable during my birthday.
Mistakes can happen- procedures need to be followed- clinics are busy. But when things are going wrong, or they’ve cocked up repeatedly with a patient - why do they never think outside the box or make sure it’s resolved?
It’s so frustrating. I work in pvt healthcare with nhs work also and it really frustrates me. I’m now getting anxiety just from having to go through this again for FET.
I was told minimum 6 weeks recovery post laparoscopy. I don’t know if there’s a minimum waiting time after hysteroscopy before FET?

Oh gosh what a nightmare for you! Luckily this is the first time in 3 years my clinic have messed up with letting me know - my consultant said I would have my FET the month following the hysteroscopy as it acts like an endo scratch to. Lots of luck for the new year 🤞

Yes I think laparoscopy being more surgical requires a little more recovery.
I’m paying privately this time and it’s a new sister clinic (but same consultant I’m using)... it’s not filling me with hope as 6 months since opening and they’re still having teething issues??
But since FET is slightly easier I’m hoping I can sail through...
I’m having a hysteroscopy next Wednesday for the same reason - fluid in my uterus. Was trying to thicken up my lining for FET after my first round of IVF and cycle got cancelled due to the fluid (lining stuck at 5.9 but it was more the fluid being the issue). Good luck hope all goes well for you x
Oh I hope you get some answers. They can’t understand the fluid as I had it during my fresh cycle but then it reduced enough for my transfer and now it’s back again 😩 lots of luck for Wednesday x
Hey, glad you got somewhere with this. Yes I would always suggest to follow up everything. I have just started DR for 2nd ICSI which is private this time. From last experience & considering we are now paying, i am being very pushy with the clinic which is awful to say but needed I think. Thankfully this time we didn't have to deal with the really bad communication from hospitals and consultants. The icsi process was fine last time but everything for like 2 years before that was total pants. Also I had a mc in September and found the aftercare after really just shocking, my midwife called 2 weeks after the miscarriage asking why I hadn't shown up for my dating scan & I'm still getting reminders now for a flu jab because I'm supposedly still pregnant. I'm really glad we got our first ivf for free, but I feel like the whole system has wasted 2 years of our precious time. Moral of the story, follow up everything - it keep you sane; keeping in control is a very good thing. Hope the scans go ok for you xxxx
That’s awful, so sorry you had to go through that with your midwife! It was playing on my mind this week but because I wasn’t expecting to be scanned until the new year I kept putting it off just feel like I’ve been thrown back into it possibly a bit quicker than I’d of liked but I know I’ve got a couple of months wait now for the referral. Lots of luck for this cycle xx

Glad you have a couple of months break, hope you can relax a little and enjoy Xmas. I've been having lots of nausea with Clomid, feeling rough this week tbh. I also made a BIG mistake last night, I'm away for 2 nights and out of my usual routine and so I went into autopilot taking one Clomid last night and after I'd taken it realised it was my 6th dose and I should have stopped at 5 days. Feel awful as I feel that I've waisted a month now xxx
Oh not good I remember the clomid nausea well some times it would literally put me off food. I found after the first month or 2 it did settle a little so hang in there. Try not to worry mistakes happen especially when your away, you might still be okay it’s at least got to be worth a try xx
I've got my scan on Monday so will ask the nurse when I go in. My clinic is shut all weekend so can't chat to anyone until Monday anyway. Literally can't stop crying right now. Could be the effect of too much Clomid but very upset with myself as I'm normally so good with taking meds xxx
Clomid is probably making you feel more emotionally but this journey takes its toll and sometimes it’s good to let it all out. Try not to blame yourself, if they say you can’t try this month maybe think of this month as like a trial month. You don’t know how you’ll react to the clomid and now you know what to expect of the side affects, I’m sure one extra day won’t of done any harm though. Hopefully you’re able to enjoy your weekend still xx
Try and enjoy Xmas if you can, I know it can be a difficult time but a couple of months may allow some time to digest things. Let's hope 2018 is a much better year for us xxx
