Hi, everyone. I’ve done a pregnancy test today which came negative does this mean the miscarriage is complete. Also I’ve had no bleeding but painful cramps is this normal.
my miscarriage was at 6weeks 5days. What does this count as a chemical miscarriage.
It’s just that I didn’t bleed a lot is this normal?
Any advice welcome x
Hi sophia88. So sorry to hear this, and I do hope you have received plenty of support. I assume you had a scan to confirm your pregnancy?? if you have had very little bleeding it could have been a chemical pregnancy or blighted ovum. Usually a 6-7 week pregnancy causes pain and heavy bleeding when you miscarry. It might be an idea to see someone at an early pregnancy unit to get checked out, just in case you haven't miscarried yet. Hope all is soon sorted out for you. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you for getting in touch, yes when I started to bleed they scanned me an send at that time either it’s to early to see anything on the scan or it’s ectopic pregnancy or I might be miscarrying. So they did a blood test to confirm. my hcg level had gone down which indicated i was having a miscarriage. According to my dates I was 6 weeks an few days. I didn’t bleed a lot. I was told from the early pregnancy unit to test in two weeks an if it’s negative I don’t need to get in touch. I’m having cramps here an there but the bleeding has stopped now. Had a negative pregnancy test today.
Hi sophia88. Not too sure what to say. If it was an ectopic pregnancy, you would have experienced some nasty pain, and may have needed to be admitted. As you have only bled a tiny bit, I would think there is more to come away. Maybe the slight cramps you are having is the start of something. Having a negative pregnancy test means that nothing is attached to your womb now, so if it is a missed miscarriage, or blighted ovum, it may come away during your next period. If nothing has happened in a week, i would pop and see your GP and get checked out, so you know properly what is happening. Diane

I'm sorry to hear about your loss dear one. How did you know that you had a miscarriage, just the HPT going negative? At 6 weeks you're supposed to get an AF and bleed if you've had a miscarriage. I had mine on 5week time and I did pass down a dime size ball of clots shortly after I started bleeding. But I've heard people say it happened in a couple of days or so, I guess it will get expelled sooner or later. The negative HPT means you're back to baseline HCG for sure. It's best to get a USG to confirm it's gone I guess because my GP told me to have one. Hope you get over it soon and TTC again. Sending Love!
Hi AmbK, Thank you got getting in touch. It all started in September 23rd I missed a period an did a HPT a week later which came postive so I called my gp an they tested me an rang to say it’s postive an referred me to the midwife.
Then nov 8th I started to spot which got me concerned an I rang my gp who told me to go to A&E which I did. They took some blood an told me to come in the morning for a scan
Then 9th I went for a scan an they said we can’t see the location of baby an maybe we have caught you early or your having a miscarriage. Was told to come again a day later for another blood test an she Called to say my hcg levels had dropped which indicates I was going to miscarry. Then the next few days I bled with some clots not a lot . At the moment I’m still having cramps but no bleeding.
The nurse said do a hpt in 2 weeks an if it’s negative I don’t need to contact them an if it’s positive call them an they will see me again.
I’m currently confused because my periods are so regular an according to my dates I was 6 weeks 4 days. I’ve heard from people an family at that stage if your having a miscarriage it’s quite painful.
Maybe theres more to come as I do have a week left yet having said that I have done a hpt which came negative. So I’m really confused.
