IVF 2WW food and wine

Hi, I am on my 2 week wait, I have my blood test this Friday coming( 17th nov) . I am off out for dinner tonight, and I just wondered if one glass of wine over dinner is acceptable? Or should I stay off it in the first 2 weeks. Obviously I wouldn't get drunk at all, just over dinner. I am also going to a seafood restaurant and I wondered if you could have shell fish, or do you follow pregnancy rules already?

I had one grade A. egg transferred in through blastocyst on day 5, and 7 frozen, all very emotional times, but hopefully it is all worth it.

Any answers are much appreciated. Thank you, annabelle xxxx

I would personally stick to acting as if you are already pregnant (you might be). Good luck for otd xx

I followed all the rules starting with stimulation period just to avoid any complications (food poisining/allergies) and no alcohol. I prefered to be on the safest side. Good luck!

Definitely wouldn’t have any alcohol at all throughout the pregnancy - and would behave as if pregnant. I did have shell fish though - I thought we could have cooked shellfish - I’d better check!

Just checked - nhs says cooked seafood is fine if commercially sold (which would include restaurants). Wishing you lots of luck x

I personally don't think its worth risking anything just for one glass of wine. If you can, try and stick to soft drinks and I think certain seafoods are not supposed to be ideal - things like mussels, clams etc. good luck for the 2 weeks x

I stuck to the rules as I didn’t want to blame myself if it wasn’t successful. Good luck x

I'm with the other ladies, I would stick to the rules on this one. Be in the state of mind that you are already pregnant.

Wishing you all the very best with your 2WW. 😊🎈

Good luck with the 2ww 🍀 xx
