The journey continues part 2: consultation and referral

So we have had our consultation today. It was much more positive than we'd anticipated. The consultant gave us a choice: either carry on naturally or seek assisted conception (a.c.). We chose the latter - we have been trying two years. We were both weighed to measure our BMI (all was good) and my partner undertook a blood test to check her hormone levels - we should get the results in 4-6 weeks. This is the final hurdle; all being well we will then be referred to the fertility clinic for our one free round of a.c. My small contribution (yep) will determine whether it's ICSI or IVF. We are looking to relax now for the Christmas in the not too distant future knowing that, all being well, we are being allowed our best chance to have a little one.
