Here we go again.. scratch advice & any cycle buddy’s?

Hi ladies, I’ve been away for a bit. Failed cycle 3 in the summer (3 fresh, male factor), we have decided try again, now private, & are trying DHEA so had a 3-4month wait.

On norethisterone just now, and have my first ever scratch on Friday. I have to go straight from my scratch to my best friends hen do for the whole weekend - how has everyone felt after a scratch?? Any bleeding?

I also wondered if there was anyone starting at the same time? I’ll be getting my down reg injection on Friday too

Morning. I’m having my scratch tomorrow too and starting to down the tomorrow night. My first ever scratch too so can’t offer any advice I’m afraid but hope it goes well and enjoy the hen do!! How long are you planned to down reg for?

Hi MrsB76, different regime to what I’ve had previously - it’s a one off down reg injection and then start stims on the 6th November. How about you? Good luck for your scratch tomorrow - I’m hoping it’s not as bad as the name suggests!x

I start down regging tomorrow for 10 days and then scan permitting will start stims on the 6th too - so definitely looks like we'll be cycle buddies! Hope it's a positive cycle for both of us. x

Hey. Sounds like we are just about at the same point. Just about to start my norethisterone on 11th. 1st time going private. Had 2 failed and 1 miscarriage earlier this year. 4th time lucky I hope for us both.

Oh I had a scratch last year too. I was fine after it. Though immediately after it I almost took a wee faint but seemingly that’s just to do with your nerve endings. It was nothing major. I just had to lie back down for five mins. 💞

Hi there. I had my first scratch last month. It was fine; almost like a transfer. I felt a bit crampy for about a minute, and it was over in ten mins. They tell you to take painkillers an hour before. Afterwards I spotted blood a tiny amount. Didn't have any pain after, but I could feel where the scratch was. You'll be fine to go away that weekend. Thanks Mango100, that’s good to know. The friday is a spa day for the bridal group so I was worried about potential bleeding. A spa is hopefully just what I need after!x

Hey Mrs I am over west from you😀3 failed fresh cycles too now on 2ww of our first fet. I had scratch for first time when we went private for round 3..was sore at time but grand after..enjoy hen do xxx

No bleeding, two scratches. Had light af type cramping afterwards but nothing major xx

Hey, I found it pretty nippy at the time but pain settled quickly and had a little spotting afterwards for around an hour. Take a couple of pain killers an 1.5hrs before you go. Good luck and enjoy the hen!xx

Hey there, just wanted to let you know that I had my scratch today and it was no big deal at all. Took 2 paracetamol an hour before. Honestly nothing to worry about. Good luck!

Christ you girls are braver than me! That was horrible. Definitely the most painful procedure I’ve had during all the IVF cycles! 😣
