Day 5 transfer instead

Hiya all, I’ve been rung by the hospital to go in on day 5 now for transfer. All 4 embryos are doing great 👍🏻 and they can’t choose which one to put in which is good news. Can someone explain the difference in the transfer days please? Is day 5 better etc? Thanks all x

By day 5 they will be at blastocyst stage and they will be able to tell which ones are the strongest. Moving to day 5 is a good thing. X

Yeah if you only had 2 embryos say they wud go day 3 as there only are the two an no others to choose from an they survive better back in their own environment, but if u have the like of 4 they want to make sure they are putting the best one back so they can tell that at day 5 as they get to blastocyst stage, so getting to day 5 with 4 is great means u have 4 really gud embryos , good luck xx

Day 5 is much better as they will have reached blastocyst stage so are ready to nestle in to your lining.

When they rang me on Thursday the day after my collection she said then that it might be 1 or 2 transferred but I guess we’ll have to see on Monday now. Cause this is our first time I’m not sure of what’s what etc. It’s a learning curve and bloody stressful I know that. Everyone is brilliant on here 🤗🤗 x

Leaving them until 5 days means they have already proved they can get to day 5......if they transfer them at day 3 no one knows if they even manage to make it to day 5. Higher success rate with the 5 days as they are already proved to be fighters! Good luck x

I'm actually in the same situation, 4 embryos looking all good, so we wait until Monday to see which is going to make good looking blastocysts!

I’m on my first time also and I’ve just let the drugs do the job tbh, any worries u have just post on here, people are very helpful. What injections will you be taking? x

Great news! Day 5 is much much better than day 3, the reason drs do a day 3 transfer is because they do not believe the emryo will make it to day 5 and hence do a day 3 transfer as transferring is better than nothing.

This is actually a great news for you. I had a day 5 transfer 10 days ago and have a BFP and do my beta test on Tuesday.

Aww thank you so much. That’s better info than what I got on google 😂😂 so happy for ur result, 1 other thing I’m seeing is the bfp (p is for positive I’m hoping) but there’s letters and numbers such as bp5 bt9 etc, something along the lines of that. Care to explain? 😂 x
