Shift work

I've been given all my dates this morning and will start Buserelin at the end of the month. Looking for advice from anyone who does shift work and how you managed to take the medication each day?

I used to do shift work and ended up doing my buserelin injections at work, they knew about the IVF so I just told them at a certain time I would need a break and they accommodated that. You do get use to having to do them in random places lol do your work know your going through treatment? X

Yes they know our situation and my boss is supportive. The injections are easy enough to do yourself then? X

Yeah I thought they were but then I was always happy to inject myself I know some people don't like to. I'm sure once you've done the first few you'll get the hang of it xx

Same here I did mine at work too, they where totally understanding and supportive.

Good luck in your cycle xx

I did mines at 10.30pm every night my clinic said do it just before going to bed, a girl i know did hers at 5pm every night. I did shift work so late shift I would finish at 10pm so 10.30 was perfect never thought about doing the injections in work. Good luck ❤️️xx

Some days better than others yesterday was so positive went out and met my friend for dinner was a good day yesterday. Today I have been lazying about doing nothing watching tv and googling every last symptom I have them bursting into tears fearing it may have not work. 22nd is my test day feels like ages away. My doctor signed me off as I work as a support worker for disabled adults and the job can be stressful and sometimes having to deal with challenging behaviour. Having all this spare time and doing nothing is making the wait feel so much longer. Us ladies don't have it easy that's for sure. Xx

I must say that I'm not really looking forward to it. I have been really chilled out so far but just know that it going to change over the next few weeks. I actually felt emotional today when the midwife was helping us with consent forms and was talking about what we want to happen to embryos in the event of death etc. When we first started trying to conceive I used to google every single symptom and I drove myself crazy every month so I kind of relate to how you are feeling. 22nd really isn't that far away, I hope it goes quickly for you. Glad your doctor signed you off. Will you have to go back to the same role once you have conceived? My job is also demanding so we get put on 'light duties' and work the 9 months in an office role. Xx

I got emotional too when going to the fertility clinics thinking why me I must have been a bad bitch in my previous life to deserve this and crying even when driving through to appointment to get scans to check my follicles I would just break into tears friends and family who never been through ivf or had problems convincing will say come on stop it ur not meant to be getting upset or cry ur meant to be positive I think to myself oh shut up if I hear someone else say think positive I am going to crack. It's ok to get upset and let it all out I think every woman will get there good days and bad going through this is bound to have an affect on our mental health. Work I will prob be put on lighter less stress jobs. My work mates all know what I am going through and very supportive. Hopefully tomorrow brings a better day for me am hoping to go out for a while and visit friends think am needing a bit of cheering up. Xx
