Hey gang!

Hope everybody is having a good Tuesday! This time next week I'll be going back to work, it's been a long summer and actually looking forward to it.

I started clomid this month, started on day 3 of my cycle, all pills taken and now on day 8. So far I haven't felt any side effects- or is it typical to feel different during ovulation time? Any info about experiences/What to expect please share๐Ÿ˜Š

I think the doctor said we were to have sex every other day, is that right? Want to do whatever I can to maximise the chances. As always thanks ladies (and gents!) For your support and wisdom ๐Ÿ˜˜

I was on clomid for 6 months, didn't really have any side effects the first month but then I did get headaches and felt really bloated and fat all the time. My mood seemed to dip slightly too while on them, but I think it affects everyone differently.

And yes we were told to have sex every other day too to maximise our chances :)

Good luck xx

Hi Beauty1984๐Ÿ™‹ I am feeling pretty fat tbh buuuuuut I have also been off work eating like a ๐Ÿท so not sure I can blame the clomid just yet๐Ÿ˜„ I'm doing this round then I have a meeting with my fertility doctor so I guess at that point she will say whether to do more cycles with clomid or another step.

I have also been eating like a ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ˜‚ these tablets just cause havoc with our bodies so to make me feel better I just eat ๐Ÿ™ˆ not good. Clomid didn't work for me so the doctor put me on another tablet called Letrozole which I have found even worse then clomid ๐Ÿ˜• I have heard lots of positive stories of clomid working though so fingers crossed it works for you. The important thing is to try and stay positive. Xx

Positivity all the way! I'm into the 'law of attraction' sounds really naff (loads of books, I know you were looking for a good read) it's not to do with ttc but it's helped me be grateful for everything good and to focus on the positive, to visualise what I want and believe it WILL happen. Whatever the outcome, nothing is gained from worrying (easier said than done!) Anyhoo fingers crossed for Clomid! You're only allowed to do 6 rounds of it I think? That makes me a bit weary in itself as to what I'm putting in my body.

I try so hard to be positive but I have had a few bad days that really overwhelm me. My next ivf cycle I will be better prepared and more positive.

I think it's just because if clomid doesn't work after 6 months then there's probably a slim chance it might, I'm not really sure. I think that's why I was put on Letrozole just to try something different. But we start ivf again in September so not long now.

Our bodies will go through so much on this journey, it's amazing what it can cope with. Xx

Do not beat yourself up๐Ÿ’œ I think we all have bad days having been dealt this crap fertility hand HOWEVER you are moving forward, doing everything you can and hopefully this IVF cycle will be successful. It's so gruelling. Be kind to yourself and believe that it is all going to be worth it๐Ÿ˜Š

I read up on clomid and got really worried before taking it. But rest assured, it's not that bad. My mood did drop a bit, but ttc does that to you too. I also had hit flushes and issues with sleep but was reassured that that's normal and nothing to worry about. Hope u get on ok and keep us posted! Oxo

Love that! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜„ I'm winging it! My doctor was very blasรฉ giving it to me, so who knows๐Ÿ™ˆ fingers crossed. Do twins run in your families? Or is it down purely to alllll the eggs๐Ÿณ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ˜„ no twins in my family but I would be so excited! You're in for the best and most exhausting Christmas of your life!โคโคโคโค

So no scans for you? Clomid really isn't bad at all it had very little side effects of me to be honest. No twins it will deffo be the clomid! Goodness knows how many eggs I had ๐Ÿ˜€ I was really worried in case there was a little one hiding they missed. I see them as a double blessing now. Would you be happy with twinnies as a good chance on clomid I believe around 1/10 xx

Im sure making, carrying and delivering(!!) Twins isn't plain sailing but getting two babies, wow! You're a trooper! I think we'd all love it๐Ÿ˜€ I had a scan on day 2 of my cycle (just because my scan 3 months ago it wasn't clear if there are or aren't PCOS). I'm kind of sceptical if I do have it, I seem to ovulate every month and have regular periods, anyway we will see!

What did your blood results say did they suggest ovulation? I really hope it works for you. I have a good feeling keep me updated xxx

Macavela profile image
Macavela in reply to Daxi16

I was told initially my blood tests (day 2 and 21) were fine by general doctors but the fertility doctor was basing the possible PCOS on one of the blood tests. Something was higher than something and it should be the opposite way around, sorry for the very non scientific answer!๐Ÿ˜„ all good feelings welcomed and encouraged!๐Ÿ˜

I've just read your post and see quite a few other ladies have given sound advice. But just to share my story I've just had 2 months on Clomid. The first month I had no symptoms to start with but then quite a bit of pinching ovulation pain around week 2, which meant I was not in the mood for baby making. So we rested that month. The second month we totally relaxed and just decided to baby make as/when we felt like it. I binned the ovulation kits and decided to ignore the doctors orders of every other day because we were just losing the will with it. And what would you know we are now pregnant. I did put on weight for the first 6 weeks which did bother me but I just see it as baby insulation now. Good luck ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ€

Wow Sarahlovs! Congratulations, that is just fantastic. I was actually thinking not too bother with the ovulation sticks this month but perhaps I should this first month on clomid to make sure I do ovulate and maybe I will ovulate later or earlier than normal? Have you seen your doctor yet? It us understandable that you are feeling every emotion under the sun! Hopefully the doctor will ease your mind and give you all the advice you need to rest up and look after your well insulated๐Ÿ˜‰ baby! When I do get pregnant my baby will be very very well insulated๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜˜. I used ovulation tests on the first cycle and it did show ovulation, but I used the boots ones which I did find quite hard to interpret. The one line wasn't ever as dark as the test line but it did vary in darkness which coincided with my symptoms. It may give you some reassurance, a friend of mine has strongly recommended the clear blue ovulation kits, whilst they are more pricey apparently they are accurate and easy to read, which I would've looked at next month if I needed to! Sadly my consultant has been on annual leave for the whole of August and my GP can't fit me in til next week so I'm a bit in limbo. So instead I've booked a 6 week private scan on Saturday for some reassurance that it's actually haopening. I had a 33-35 day cycle for the last 3 months (after months of irregular cycles) and found I ovulated after about day 14. Now you're on treatment try not to stress about any sign or signal and relax and enjoy the time with your partner. We stopped thinking about it for just a week and look where we've ended up. Wishing you so much luck ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ€ xxx

They are so pricey all the ovulation sticks in the shops here (Qatar). I bulk ordered from Amazon and they seem to work, super cheap too, got to save where we can on this expensive baby journey!๐Ÿ˜Š let's see what the next month may bring!๐Ÿคž๐Ÿคž lots of luck for your scan, I would 100% do the same if I was in your position, how exciting!
