Egg collection on Friday 😬

Hi I'm new to this but I thought I'd join for some extra support, I potentially have my egg collection on Friday just need to wait and see after scan on Wednesday if they have grown big enough! I'm really worried and a little scared about Ec! So any advice is welcome x

Hi, happen to be awake! I was bit worried before my first egg collection but it was really ok. All 3 of mine, I remember nothing of the procedure, just waking up in recovery after, like a general anaesthetic even tho I was just sedated. And no pain after either. Hope it goes well for you too xx

Hi thanks for reply, it's just not much has been said of the actual procedure of Ec but u guess they are just waiting to see what Wednesdays s an shows! Hopefully big eggs! Lost count amount of scan I've had x

Hi, good luck with it! 🙏🏼❤️ hope it all goes well. Just remember to drink loads and loads of water afterwards for like a week after, every day, loads. It helps your body recover quicker and helps avoid OHSS xxx

Thank you, I'm signed of work for two weeks as was finding it stressful trying to fit in appointments around work and having to get time off,thanks for the advice x

I took a week off after my ec too. I found it quite painful afterwards but I have endometriosis quite bad and I got OHSS 🙄 flipping typical. But as I understand it most women are pretty much fine afterwards as long as you rest up okay. Take good care of yourself! Xxx

I'm booked for my second EC on Thursday! Worst bit about EC is getting the cannula in for the drugs!! You will have a nice, relaxing sleep with the most amazing tea & toast afterwards!!! Hopefully your scan goes well on Wednesday!! Good luck xx

I just behind you. On my third cycle and scan tomorrow after a week of injections. Egg collection is grand you are sedated the while time. Try not to get too hung up on egg numbers it really is quality over quantity xx

No advice as I'm not far behind you on our 1st cycle!! But wishing you the best of luck!! 🍀I was provisionally booked for Mon but taking longer to stimm so be further into next wk now!! More injections meanwhile & praying for growth!! Such an anxious time!! 😔xx

Hay, I can't speak for any one else but I really didn't find this as uncomfortable as they'll have you believe. I was also awake for the procedure, in fact I'm not sure what drugs they give you but I couldn't stop laughing. I think the consultant and my husband thought I'd gone nuts. So honestly don't worry it'll be fine. The more relaxed you are probably the better.

I only took that day off my work but it was a Friday so had Sat and Sun off too but was totally fine to go back to work on Monday. In fact I pretty much felt normal on Sat. Maybe I just had a really good consultant. His name was Dr Best!?

I found the embryo going back in far worse than the eggs getting taken out.

I had egg collection 3 times and all 3 cant remember a thing apart from waking up in recovery. Try not worry and hope it all goes well xxx
