Hi there, I myself have been through a failed ivf cycle on top of being a egg sharer (to which I donated all 8 eggs as not enough for sharing).

I have had 3 councilling sessions with my fourth tomorrow. It's a brilliant service there to be used. The councillor works closely with the team and is knowledgable regarding fertility treatments.

Don't be nervous see this as a step in the right direction. I left my last session drained due to off loading but I feel so much better for it.

Good luck pm me if you need to know anymore. Xxx

Thanks so much x will let you all know how it goes x

Hi, I had a counselling session after my 3rd cycle and found it really beneficial. It was actually her that recommended me this forum and without either I don't think I'd of been able to put myself through another cycle. Lots of luck xx

We were offered councilling after our failed cycle through the hospital. It was good to talk it through esp as we were considering donor eggs or adoption. We felt stronger for discussing a possible plan. Xx

Well I'm just about to leave . Feel really sick ๐Ÿ˜ท but I have to do this . Speak soon and thanks for all your advice x

Hi hun, we took a couple of counselling sessions that were offered at the ivf clinic but they were around 20 minutes in length and the counsellor kind of just talked at us which is not my idea of traditional counselling at all so I didn't bother going back.

I can say this because I qualify as a counsellor soon and have had counselling before.

After our miscarriage I went through my GP for counselling which I was offered within 4 months and I've have had for an extended period which had only recently ended.

It was fabulous and has really supported me to find myself, my strength and my zest for life outside of ivf again. I can't recommend proper counselling enough.

In terms of what to expect then, you might have a few sessions where the counsellor wants to build a clear picture of your experience from your perspective after which they have enough information to - depending on what kind of counselling they practice - perhaps devise a treatment plan to suit your needs.

I really hope you have a good experience with it lovely.

Good luck. Xx ๐Ÿ˜Š
