Trying to stay positive

Just have to offload. After TTC for 4 years finally about to start our first round of ivf and think I'm doing a good job of staying calm and trying to remain as stress free as possible.

I am a school leader/ teacher and I've felt until now that actually my employer has been very understanding, they've just dropped the bomb on me that I'm loosing my amazing team of 2 very understanding ladies and replacing them with 2 people who are not very good at their job, who they feel I will be very good at 'managing'.

I just feel like this is setting me up to fail, make my job super stressful and more than it needs to be and with so much pressure on me that I will never get that bfp ☹️

Having a day off to prepare for a colonoscopy tomorrow and the headteacher decides to text me this this morning!

Don`t know what to say...

I`ll try to describe situation as I see it:

you`ll be a manager for 2 amateurs?

In such case give them a try. If there any further problems it would be better to change your job or at least to get rid of these two.

Because it would be super hard, as you already mentioned, to handle with both (ivf & work).

oh my God, what she told you? you have organize some work plan or what?

It's embarrassing don't they understand you? Don't they understand it's too easy to cope with feelings, I know it's not a part of your job but still it needs a bit or respect. It seems like you do all for this job, right?

I manage a department in school while also leading a class which is at times difficult enough, these people are not amateurs they've been doing the job a long time but have been put in non class based roles as they were not very good in classes. One not so bad I could manage but both I just feel is like a big slap in the face 😏

Hi Newqgirl1 I'm a teacher too and can imagine the scenario - are you primary or secondary? X

Oh, ok - I can imagine the scenario - a couple of members of staff who don't pull their weight and you're good at your job so you've been given responsibility for them. Sorry to hear that. See how it goes - it may be better than you think and if not then you can approach your head about it and see if they can put anything else in place. But I'm sorry this has happened to you just now xx

Yes and remember you can always take some time off if you need. I took 2 days off around egg collection and 2 days after transfer but take longer if you need it. Good luck, I'm sure you will be fine xxx

Sounds very tough for you! Also sounds a tubbish way that you were asked/told.

I guess that your manager must think your the best one for the task, but maybe try to be mindful of your needs and limitations.

Good luck for your appointment tomorrow. Maybe do something nice after or at least buy yourself a little pick-me-up treat :-)

Thanks for the advice but we are lucky enough to have funding through NHS so are at the hospital fertility unit.

I hope IVF is a success for you. It is very important that you don't get stressed. Therefore, I would suggest that you should deal with everything in a very relaxed manner. Also, start doing yoga as that will help you deal with anxiety and stress. Surround yourself with positivity and keep your mind busy. Good luck to you. Do keep us updated. Sending baby dust your way.
