Both tubes removed-right ovary damaged-womb healthy-10% chance of having my own child

Hi everyone,

In a state of shock/upset. Had both my tubes removed a couple of days ago, and given some really grim stats.

Seems an old ruptured appendix has left my insides full of scar tissue and has affected my ability to conceive hence both tubes gone.

I'm 41 soon, have a low AMH, and waiting to speak with consultant about what we do next. Anyone any advise/similar story with positive outcomes? Or do I just give up now? ☹️

I'm so sorry you've had such a traumatic time, that's a lot to have to take in. If your womb is unaffected though, and you could afford ivf, it would bypass all the stuff going on outside of it. There are plenty of us on here with low amh that have managed to retrieve a sufficient amount of eggs during ivf. I hope your appointment goes well and you get some answers and can move forward positively xx

Im sorry you have had so much going on. I Just wanted to say even in the darkest moments there is always hope.... I hope that there are some options out there for you....and as said before hope IVF may be an option..... never give up faith..... there is always a chance... big hugs xxxxx

I have a v low AMH, had a tube removed due to stage 4 endo, and adenomyosis, both ovaries operated on twice for large painful endometrioma growing inside the ovary, was given max 10% chance of IVF working. I only did IVF as an experiment before I considered just giving up or moving to de. I was nearly 40.

IVF worked first time with own eggs. I know I was lucky, but it can work. I hope this helps xx

Hi Angel_face. Oh dear, such a lot for you to take in. Hopefully you will be able to continue with IVF, maybe "mild" to protect your ovaries?? Your poorly tubes are now out of the way, so no drainage from them to affect a developing embryo from implanting. OK, perhaps your odds are low, but you have some, so listen to what your consultant recommends, as he/she will want the best for you too. Good luck it it all, and I will be thinking of you. Diane
