Male factor infertility

Hi all, I wondered if anyone on here also has male factors as the reason for IVF and other than reduced caffeine, alcohol and vitamins anything has helped?

Thanks

Hey lovey,

It's my egg quality that's the main issue for us but we also have had to refer to ICSI due to low sperm count on occasions

He has been taking Fertileaid for a few months and his count has greatly improved.xx

Thanks hun, he has been taking supplements. We'll have a look to see if that's similar xx

Hi, we also have male infertility issues, azoospermia. Has your OH been told what the issue is?

I think you are already doing all the right things with reducing caffeine/alcohol and taking the male fertility supplement. Mine also eats oily fish twice a week and Brazil nuts (which I have to make him eat because he hates them 😂)

Reducing stress is also good, I booked my OH in for some acupuncture but he said he's equally relaxed watching tv and won't go back.

Hope that helps 😀

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Haha I love that - tv is definitely cheaper! Basically everything is low - counts, motility, morphology. Probably due to an operation when he was a baby. Hadn't heard about the fish & nuts - were you advised that?

Yes I'm sure they told us that about the fish and nuts but I forget why though.

I saw on another post that you were asking about private clinics in Scotland. We're at the Nuffield in Glasgow and they are very good, I've heard good things about GCRM too. Not sure about any private ones Edinburgh way though

GCRM do a satilite service in Edinburgh so I think we will try them. So expensive though 🙈!

Interesting - I will definitely ask about that at out appointment. Thank you

I was also told to keep the testicle area cool as overheating can be a factor. Boxers rather than briefs, don't sit with a laptop on lap - always use a table and keep mobile phones out of trouser pockets because of the radiation (always the hardest thing for my hubby!).

Thanks lynn! He has switched to boxers and no hearted seats in the car. We kinda lapsed on the laptop though so good reminder 👍🏻

Hi, we had ICSI due to male factor fertility. Unfortunately didn't work the 1st time, now waiting to try again. Keep scrolling the internet for anything that will help too:) xXx

It's tricky though because most things don't have any evidence so hard to know what you listen to! Wishing you lots of luck for round 2 xx

Was anyone recommended acupuncture for your OH by your clinic?

Our fertility Dr told us exactlythe same thing. Husband to take zinc, reduce alcohol and eat healthier. He's already quit smoking but it doesn't seem to have helped much. She'd recommend IVF but I don't qualify for it on the NHS. I would love some sucess stories too please
