I had my laparoscopy today and it couldn't have gone better!
Both of my tubes are clear which is reassuring, I don't have polycystic ovaries so obviously my ovaries didn't require drilling. It turns out I have endometriosis- he found endometriosis in the pouch of Douglas- which is between my uterus and rectum. As he had consent he removed the endometriosis. He thinks because of location this is the reason for the lower left abdomen pain- but to keep an eye on it and if it's no better go back to my GP. Interestingly he also said there is a link between being lactose intolerance and endometriosis- and although not proven I haven't been able to tolerate lactose since this pain begun.
We will be seeing our consultant for a follow up- we are hoping we can just try naturally now the endometriosis has been treated.
After 5 years and 10 months it is nice to know the reason for our infertility.
We are both feeling very positive and have confidence that we can have this baby we want so much! What a difference a good consultant can make....

No change at the mo, as haven't progressed our enquiries. I've got a nagging part in my head which says have another laparoscopy, but part of me says give IVF another go before...
Tough decision. I'm sure you'll make the decision that feels right for you. Its not easy is it? Its about balancing all pros and cons. Good luck with whatever decision you make. X

Glad to hear all went well. Make sure you get lots of rest and take it easy. I rushed back to work after my laparoscopy and I think it made my recovery time longer.

Interesting I have a lactose intolerance which has eased off big time recently I just put it down to becoming more resistant again - however I also had a lapo done and a small amount of endo removed so maybe that's the trigger for feeling better with the lactose! Very Interesting

Its a relief to have a proper "proven" diagnosis! Husband's home so he's making sure I rest up!!!
I am so glad that I had the laparoscopy- it shocks me it is not offered to more women- particularly those with menstrual abnormalities and women with so called "unexplained infertility".
If your clinic offers you a laparoscopy go for it- best decision I made.
