Hi I just thought I would introduce myself before I started randomly replying to posts etc. We have just been put forward for IVF on the NHS after 2 years of trying and I am so grateful that we get this chance but my partner nor mum can work out why I'm not jumping for joy! I think basically I'm pretty petrified of the whole experience, which isn't like me, I suppose I never thought deep down it would get to this stage and now it has it feels like the last chance you get and all though this is the start of a journey it also feels like the end of the journey, because if this doesn't work that's it! Just feeling a bit shell shocked, but I can tell from reading your ladies posts that you guys are going to be an amazing help, just glad I found this group! 😀❤️ x x

Hi and welcome to the group!

People expect you to be excited about ivf because they don't see it like we do or be the ones who have to go through the process. They think we'll all end up with triplets on our first go! They aren't aware of the success rates, how treatment affects you, the things you will put your body through.. We however tend to see ivf as a last resort and it can be hard to muster any excitement over that prospect.

Don't be scared. I mean I know you will be, but try to just take it one appointment, blood test, scan, injection at a time. Day by day. Breaking it up makes it less overwhelming. You've got this! You can do it! Good luck with your treatment 🤞 X

Welcome! You're in good hands. Any questions you have, this site is amazing. Lots of support and help. I understand your feelings of apprehension as I'm sure everyone else here will. Whilst scary and daunting, it's also an amazing experience to go through. Good luck!xx

Hello and welcome 😊 Everything you're feeling is totally normal, I think those that know nothing about IVF just think it's the last resort for those who have been trying but ultimately will work, even though it's hard. Of course we know that's not the case so of course you'd be scared, it's all so unknown right now. You've come to the right place though, lots of luck on your IVF journey xx

I have to admit when we were referred for ivf my husband just assumed it would work. 😂😂 for people who don't know much about ivf there are a lot of misconceptions gosh you're going to have twins!! Yeah so people just expect you to be so excited but the reality is it can take a few rounds for it to work. Good luck xx

Hi, I'm in the same boat...waiting for IVF referral confirmation after 2 years of trying. I'm not jumping for joy either - I feel positive there's a new plan but daunted by it all, so much to take in and understand. Step by step u guess is the best way. I'm also being realistic that maybe the cycles won't work so I don't get hopes up too much.

Girls on here are v supportive and helped me through a low point several weeks ago.

Good luck with it all and share on here - there's always several who totally understand and may even be exactly the same point in their journey as you.

As tugs and other gurls said . It's strange how people have misconceptions about ivf and it's success rate. But we r all there . So just relax . And just go with d flow . Your body will tell u d rest .

Hi don't be scared none of it hurts, it's fine honestly, I'm the biggest baby going and I can say so, it's just the waiting that's the worst. I could go thru it again and again, it's the 2 week wait that is the hardest good luck ❤️xz
