Another hurdle complete

Phew so egg collection done and 5 eggs collected. .got the call and 3 fertilised. Mixed feelings to be honest..Releived but kind of disappointed we don't have higher numbers it all seems so much riskier when you have fewer embryos!! I am hoping we are as lucky as Lucky17 and it truly is quality over quantity especially as we been doing all we could to improve egg quality..can't wait to wear nail polish again and get decent shampoo😉. I am nervous now as last time we got a panic call at 3 days so am preparing myself for that again but hoping we make it to Saturday. .good luck and lots of baby dust to all out there xxxx

ahhhhhh vic - they really are mini hurdles all along the way, well done you. i understand it's hard, but try not to focus on numbers - and definitely think about lucky17, all you need is that one little fighter 💪🏻🤞🏻

We will go with what they recommend..last time they put two back in but with only 3 who knows and they still got to get through tomorrow and rest of week . I am sending love to my petri dishes..lol xx

Guessing no nail varnish is just for egg collection and transfer? Not that I wear it that often,

Hi Leesalou . I read a book called it starts with the egg where it talks about ways to increase egg quality..it recommends avoiding parabens which I had never heard of before and after my bfn I was prepared to try anything.it seems parabens and other toxins are in most products like cleaning products, shampoo, body wash etc. I didn't go totally organic but we did try to change a few things round the house and I have avoided nail polisH. Who knows if this will work but certainly better for environment. Cleaning products we bought are ecover ones which are available in tesco etc. I bought Jason shampoo and sanex zero body wash. ..herbal essence do a brand called naked I think it was. Good luck for April. .is this your first cycle?xx

This will be my 2nd cycle, I had an unsuccessful one in 2011 then gave up, so I'm trying I do things that may help a little, although they think it was unsuccessful due to my hydrosalpinx they've only just found I have they've now clipped my tube so i only now have option Of ivf ,

Did you have time off ? As I'm thinking of having 2-3 weeks off work,

My gp signed me off for a month so finished up just after I started injections..this week off for ec and et then 2ww off. I have a stressful job and last time was just awful.I figured this was way more important and gp signed me off no worries so was a no brainer for me. Everyone different on this but I knew what was right for me. What are you thinking now about time off?xx

I'm going to have time off from start of my injections I'm hoping if my gp will sign me off for that long. I've got an appointment on 7th to chat with them if not then I'll have to use my holiday. I'm just want to do it different this time round, to relax and unwind,

Is this you 2nd time also?

And yes I agree this is more important than work or anything cx

Hi, hope you don't mind me replying but just read that you have a Hydrosalpinx too! I've baffled everyone as that what my scan shows but my hsg was clear!! Have decided to leave it and start IVF but it's hard as there is a reduced chance of success! Hard to know what to do 😥X

That's fine nice to have someone else with the same situations, on my first cycle of ivf no one brought it up, and it was unsuccessful, paid for that cycle, after given up for 6 years I went back to gp & had further investigations and my pelvic and hsg showed I had hydrosalpinx which I then had to have a 3rd lapscropmy (sorry about my spellings) and had my remaining tube is now clipped as NHS wouldn't allow me to have ivf until the hydrosalpinx was sorted, not its clipped I can go forward with the treatment under the NHS.

I totally understand where you're coming from.

I had only 3 eggs collected in Feb and wasn't feeling great about it. The wait for the call was horrible and when the day arrived, I was told that all 3 had been fertilised!

Relieved but the worse was still to come with the 2WW now. And I'll know if it be a BFP or BFN on Friday... cross fingers!! The waiting game is continuous and horrible!
