egg collection - shellac pedi ok?

i've removed finger nail varnish for egg collection in the morning as i understand it can interfere with observations but am i ok to leave shellac on my toenails?

I imagine you will be fine as I believe the hand nail varnish is so they can monitor your heart rate? I had nail varnish on my toes and they didn't say anything. They made me take my gel nails off though.

Think it's different at each clinic, mine said absolutely no varnish or fake nails/gel on both hands or feet, I'd ring and ask just incase. Hope everything goes well with EC xx

My clinic said no nail varnish, Shellac, gel/acrylic nails etc on either fingers or toes but did let me in the end keep my gel extensions (hands) as I explained how difficult it was for me to have them removed (I got a serious deficiency in my finger nails that has been unsuccessfully treated 😬). I keep them quite short and unobtrusive. They've not interfered with anything, had successful collections and bfp both times. Check with you clinic to be on the safe side xoxo

Mine said I could have nails but 1 finger needs to have nothing on, I had my acrylic nails removed painted all my finger nails except my 2 index fingers.

I also had shellac on my toes, nothing was said.

I would check with ur clinic as it seems they are all different Hun

I wore socks for my EC so they weren't bothered at all! But send them an email just to check! Good luck with EC! Xx

I removed everything... used it to give my nails a break too to recover from all gels and acrylic over the years!

It's usually just your fingers so they can use a Sats probe to monitor your oxygen levels- they only need one finger. I had gel toenails and the anaesthetist actually complimented them haha! Good luck 💕

We got 4 eggs, two of which were immature. Very nervy wait for the call this afternoon to see how the 2 we have get on. I've been a little upset but I'm ok now. How are you lovely? x x x

we had 17, but not sure how many were mature - won't hear until tomorrow.

embryologist just called to say they recommend ivf over icsi which has thrown me a bit as i assumed we'd have icsi. just placing my faith in them as they know best.

ahhhh thanks mommabear, but if i've learnt anything over the last few years it's to try not to get my hopes up. will just have to see how things play out - goddamn minefield!

i was made to remove all my gel nails due to it interfering whilst the embryos were getting taken out of you. but im sure every clinic has different rules lol. x x
