IVF newbie

Hi All,

This is my first attempt at IVF. Im on long protocol down reg and just started my Buserlin injection today. It was my first time injecting myself and am delighted to say it didnt hurt at all!!! Lets hope for no funny side effects. Has anyone had side effects to buserilin?

Hi!

I started last Wednesday so we're practically cycle buddys! It's my first time too. I'd had 2 sleepless nights prior to starting injections as I was so worried, but like you, they didn't hurt at all.

Not wanting to speak too soon, but so far so good with side effects. I had one episode of dizzyness and nausea on day 1 (of all things!) but I think this was more anxiety. I've had nothing since (almost feel more energetic!)

I've done 4 now and I can't believe how quickly the time is flying. Hope it continues to go this quick haha!

So good to read both your posts. You both sound very strong. Good to hear injections going well. Sounds to be quite a few of us on here starting at the same time. My first round of long protocol ICSI. Good luck to you xx

Hey Oakey80, thank you soo much for that. Its a relief to hear from someone going through the same thing and that Im not a total wuss with needles. Keep me posted with how youre getting on cycle buddy x

Hey hope the injections are going well for you. Im not far infront I'm day 10 now. Iv had two bad headaches and feels hot a bit but nothing terrible at all which is good. Fingers crossed you won't have any horrible side effects. I have my scan Wednesday if all is okay I can start stims injections 😁

So far so good. I had a few funny dreams last night, bizzare ones, not distressing just bizarre. I luv coffee so this morning I had lemon and honey water instead. I hear plenty of water and no caffeine helps keep headaches at bay so I'll be drinking water like a camel. Fingers crossed for Weds xxx

hi beanme, i also had long protocol & have egg collection tomorrow.

stay hydrated & rest as much as you can. i was headachey & got night sweats with buserelin - this doesn't happen to everyone and side effects passed when stimm started.

Hi beanme - I had really headaches with the Buserelin both cycles and I would get hot flushes now and again but especially at night. It's a very sexy jab that one 🙈😂 good luck with everything x x x

Really bad headaches. I get a lot of tension headaches so I thought I could handle it but they were bad. And persistent. Also hot flushes. I hope you don't get any side effects. Good luck 🍀

I finished Buserelin over a week ago and I was doing much better on the headache front but I've had one for a couple of days now, although it's not major thank God! It's bearable. And I still get a few hot flushes but not as many 😊 Thing is I'm on progesterone pessaries, 4 x oestrogen tabs, and hrt patches so I don't know what's me and what's medication now lol. I'm sure the worst is over for me anyway 🙏🏻 😊 Thank you x

Sorry, I accidentally hit the reply button!

I've had a constant headache and I'm getting really bad night sweats, lovely I know! I'm waking up quite a lot during the night as well but I'm not sure whether that's part of it also. This is our third cycle and my symptoms so far have been the same, I'm also getting very tired. Hope this helps, wishing you all the best with this cycle, we're only a few days apart. Xx

I'm in a similar position but your a bit further ahead. I came on today so will phone the clinic first thing tomorrow morning! Hopefully will be starting treatment tomorrow 😬.
