Ok ladies I need your thoughts and advise. I'm due for ET on Saturday. Very excited 😊So when the embrologist rang me I asked how many they were putting back in. She said one or two depending on quality. She said we'd discuss on the day. I'm 39 and 7 out of my 8 eggs fertilised.
I'm apprehensive about the choice. I would prefer one baby and not twins due to extra risks but then again I want the maximum chance too. .What's your views and experiences? Would love to hear that. Thanks 😊
Hi Buffy. We had these conversations before our last cycle and we decided two then and the same for this cycle. I've always had the belief that they will put two back and we'll get one baby but there's obviously a risk there will be two and I think we're prepared for that.

Hi Buffy, I'm 39 and had two blasts transferred. Unfortunately as you know I got a BFN this cycle.
They just told me they were transferring two and I was ok with that as it was there suggestion and they know best.
They have to warn about risks as they try to discourage multiple birth.
I have 3 frozen blasts left and will again transfer two in my next cycle if they survive the thaw.

Hi Buffy21 I am the same age, I got 2 blasts on my 1st round of which I really wish I'd had both transferred, instead was advised by embryologist to have 1, so went with there advice. That resulted in a chemical and so did my FET. My friend had 3 single FET's which resulted in chemicals and a MMC, however this time she told them she wanted her last two transferring together. She is now 10wks pregnant with 1 baby and she's 36. If I'm lucky enough to get 2 on my next cycle then I'll be demanding both to be transfered! Good luck for this weekend, just go with your gut feeling on what to do x
I'm a bit younger than you and we decided to put two back to maximise our chances. But it depends on how you feel. There is a risk you'll get twins. For us we just we had already tried putting just one back and had a miscarriage so we just wanted to try something different to maximise our chances. Good luck whatever you decide xxx
I was 38 during my last cycle and only had 2 viable embryos so they told us this on et day and that they were going to transfer both. We never really had a chance to think about it and 2 were transferred I guess I saw it as giving us maximum chance however we got a bfn. If in situation again I would probably do the same as I just want a baby so badly if there are two in there my mind says that doubles my chances however I am aware of the risks. They kept saying to me..given your age..we want to give you the best chance..bloody age. .I didn't need a reminder at every appointment. .good luck whatever you decide xxx

I'm 37 and I had 2 transferred at day 2. They decided this as I'm older and also I only had 2 make it day 2 - 1 top quality grade 4,1 grade 3 (6 eggs, 3 fertilised, 2 made it) The other reason was as there was only 2 they didn't want to risk getting further and having none.
We questioned 2 and they said it increases rather than doubles your chances
Such a personal choice but I had to take this risk, I just want the BFP

Hello, I personally think it all depends on what grades your embryos are on the day of transfer. I'm 30 and I had 2 put back in me as mine weren't strong enough to freeze, so I was aware of the fact twins may happen but I didn't want to loose out by just binning my last embryo. And well yesterday I got my bfn, so it's all down to how you feel on the day. I hope it all goes ok for you and good luck xxx

I told OH only yesterday that I was looking for "signs" to show me what to do. Well while we were out shopping today we saw two separate sets of twins and in the second set I turned to him and said "Ok maybe that's our sign, how often do we see twins?!" Then after loading the car up he puts the radio on 5 live and they're talking about/to twins! I was like, it's got to be a sign! Right?! 😂 X
Definitely!I totally believe in signs like that. Yes you must go for 2. I have a calender that I've been marking my drugs and injections and scans and so on. I opened it the other day and it was flipped to 20th November 2017 for no reason as I'm just using it day to day. This could very well be my due date or there abouts if I fall pregnant after ET tomorrow. I totally believe in these signs 👌😊xx
We have identical twins naturally running down from my side (my mum and aunt, then my aunt had identical twins). The nurse said if they put two back in, both could split to identical twins and that sounds like a huge risk so i think we will be strongly discouraged from putting two back in on our first go but I guess it depends on quality and see what is happening at that stage. Only one blast would be fantastic though and anything else a bonus.
Do they ever put more than 2 in? Or do they ever refuse and only put one in?
