Endometrial scratch done - tight neck of womb issues

Hi all, had the endemetrial scratch procedure done, didn't go as smoothly as hoped as apparently because I have not had children before the neck of my womb was extremely tight and they struggled to get to the lining to do the scratch. After 3 attempts and a very uncomfortable time on the bed it finally happened. I just wondered if anyone else experienced this too?

Start my burselin injections tomorrow day 21, feeling a bit apprehensive. Anyone else just started there cycle?

I've had the scratch twice, but had the same experience as you first time. The nurse tried repeatedly without success and had to call the dr in. Think it can be a bit tricky to get through the neck of the womb. I can completely relate to the prolonged discomfort! Found the scratch the most uncomfortable of any of the ivf procedures! I've just finished my down reg of burserilin and stated stims yesterday for the 3rd attempt! I've always found the nurses are great at walking you through 1 step at a time. Always a bit nerve racking giving the 1st injection but it gets easier after that. Happy to give any advice or answer any questions you have as an old hand at this ;). X

Thank you so so much for replying! I can't tell you how much this has helped reading that someone else had experienced the same thing! It was so uncomfortable but I'm glad I did it and it's over! Music to my ears that you say that's the worst part of the ivf cycle! yes I start the burselin injections this evening! I am nervous, needles are my fear but my husband is going to do it for me. so did you say this is your 3rd round? Sorry if you did say.

Thank you again for replying that's been extremely helpful

:) x

It's my 3rd fresh round but had a frozen transfer too, so this will be my 4th time having an embryo transferred. Will also be our last, so hoping this is our time. Good luck for tonight x

I had a lot of trouble with my endoscratch but what was good was that it acted as a 'dummy transfer' as the doctor made sure she recorded all the issues with my funny shaped cervix in the notes. That meant, at embryo transfer, it went a lot smoother because the doctor was prepared with the right kind of catheter. You might want to check that a similar thing is passed on/put on your notes... Should increase the chances of a successful transfer if you've experienced it. And yes, it was also the most painful part of the IVF treatment I've had (so far)

Yes the nurse did make notes of it for me and assured me that emby transfer will be much easier than the scratch. It really was not pleasant! So how far into your journey are you?

I'm on day 5 of buserelin injections and feeling a few of the symptoms but all good just taking each day as it comes

Good luck with ur journey 🍀🍀

Oh I feel like I've been in this cycle forever: endoscratch was in October I think... Unfortunately the EPAU finally called it on this pregnancy for me this morning: I'm 10 weeks but my sac hasn't grown that much and there's no foetal pole. I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not, but I knew from the first testing day that things weren't right as one test was negative and one faintly positive. Luckily the lab have agreed to test the sac for genetic issues so I can plan my next IVF round... (if it's normal then I'll look in to my endo/immunes more). On a positive note, this pregnancy is further than I've ever got trying naturally... But I wasn't prepared for how long and drawn out a negative cycle can be. Sorry it's not sunnier news but all the best with your next stage of your journey x I'll be joining you in a few months time again hopefully...
