Hello, well it was a bfn for me which I knew was the case. That was my one and only funded cycle. Got to phone on Wednesday with the news, I will be doing another cycle but self funded the question is what will happen? I wouldn't have to get referred again will I or have to go through all the tests again? If anyone could help it will be very much appreciated xx

Sorry to hear this! I'm presuming you'll get a review appointment where they can discuss your case with you and if anything could be improved etc. I'm not entirely sure as that's what happened last time for is but we still had a funded cycle left. Look after yourselves!xx

Thankyou Cinderella5 i hope we do get a review just so we know where to go from here. I feel like I'm going abit crazy with it all thinking about what went wrong etc but got to go on I suppose. How are you feeling? Xx

Yeah you do go a bit crazy but DC13 gave good advice about questions. Diane, the nurse has a list if you email her in confidence. Makes me feel better knowing I have a plan going forward which I am currently constructing!x

I am so sorry to read your post. My thoughts are with you.

You should have a follow up consultation and during that session they should go through suggestions and options for you.

Some tests may need to be repeated but that might be compulsory bloods for example if they are outside of the dates required.

I wish you all the very best for you consultation. It is a little bit like sitting in limbo before then. Maybe get a little list together of your questions so that they can be answered when you are there.

xx

I am so sorry to hear that - bfn are heart breaking. Its so unfair when we try so hard. Be kind to yourselves-this is not your fault in anyway. Big hugs to you x

I would expect you will get a follow up appointment- this is your chance to discuss what went wrong/what could be done differently. I hope you can get some answers and helps you get a bfp next time x

Thankyou all soooo much. I just don't know where to start. I'm at work also which does and doesn't help if you know what I mean. I'll see if I can get Diane's email and message her as like I say I just don't know where to start 😒 Xx

If you're changing clinic get copies of all your results to take with you. I hope you get a BFP next time.

I'm going to stick with the same clinic, it was only my first round so hopefully going to stay there and see how things go next time xx

You should be offered a review and discuss treatment for round 2. They may adjust the treatment plan. Often they can't offer reasons why it failed. If you'require going for another full round rather than FET you might be told to wait for another period before starting again.

I hope you get a BFP.

So sorry to read this. I got a bfn in October and am starting a 2nd cycle this month so I know exactly how you are feeling. I didn't need any more tests just a case of going again but my husband and I are looking into private options too and are taking a consultation and some initial tests again with them this week just to get a 2nd opinion and we are back next week at nhs for our review 3 months after bfn and I have a list of questions as we asked nothing first time around..I am damned if I am going to be so silent this time!!! Good luck and give yourself some time. If I can help or you want to see my list of questions..some which may or may not be relevant and I used Diana's list too then just let me know and I can email on xxx

That would be great if you could, I have gave DianeArnold an email but anything that could help would be very greatful. My head is very puzzled at the moment. Wishing you all the best to you on your next cycle xx

my head was the same sometimes still is!!!! I found the more information I got the more puzzled sometimes I got too however I do feel more informed and at least now I have some questions to ask unlike before so it is helping me feel like I am taking more control. Will email my questions now - some may not be relevant to you of course. xx

Hi . . .sorry for your failed cycle . .I have started my 2nd cycle but with a different fertility centre as like you I am now self funding. . the new fertility centre needed to do transvaginal scan and blood test before I started the cycle which we paid for. But they will usually use all the results from previous tests for everything else as I think they are valid for 1/2 years. If you are not changing your fertility centre, then you may not need any further tests. If you are staying with the same fertility, they should refer you automatically for your 2nd cycle, they will probably discuss all your options at your follow up appointment . . good luck x

Thankyou, i hope we do get to do a second cycle with them. I do feel like I need a couple of months off from it all as it is getting a little muchbto cope with. I wish you all the best with your 2nd cycle xx

Thankyou xx

I had a bfn first cycle in Oct last year and a review about 4 weeks after where they discussed what went well and what didn't and what we wanted to do next. We said we wanted to try again even though they said extremely unlikely to work due to my egg quality not being good, im38. We are getting ready to go again Nd I hAve my blood tests on Tuesday. We have to pay this time but haven't paid anything yet. We didn't get referred again x
