Second failed attempt...has anyone conceived despite endometriosis?

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well.

We seem to have had a second failed attempt : it was our second ivf this year (first one was in January following major surgery after diagnosis of Stage 4 endo and frozen pelvis). The pressure was on to try again quickly before the endo came back - unfortunately it started to come back pretty quickly and now have a 3 X 4cm cyst on right ovary and smaller cysts on left ovary.

We started our second ivf in October ; the clinic didn't check my amh level again as it was so high the first time round. But then we had to convert to IUI as I didn't produce enough follicles (injections were 150iu of menopur), but we still felt as though we had a chance.

The awful thing is we had really got our hopes up ; id had absolutely no bleeding or spotting throughout the two week wait and our test day was 3rd December. I felt and looked so well compared to how rotten I normally feel due to endo.

The test result was negative. I then started to get excruciating cramps and migraine followed by heavy bleeding with clots yesterday. The pain and bleeding don't seem to be as bad today. My Mum wondered if it could be implantation bleeding but after the clots and negative result I'm not so sure.

I'm 41 and don't know what to do. We are both in bits and are really struggling today. We'll get a review appointment with the clinic soon but just don't know if we can do this again.

Has anyone out there been able to successfully conceive with severe endometriosis and frozen pelvis....?

Thank you so much 💜 X X X X

Hi sorry to hear your going through a bad time!! IVF is one thing but endo is another. I have stage 4 endo and had major surgery for it last August.

My first IVF last year ended at 7 weeks. I have just been through my second fresh cycle and currently 9 weeks pregnant with twins. So far so good. So it can happen.

Good luck to you and feel free to ask me any questions any time.

Take care xx

In the same boat too. Just failed our second cycle with stage 3/4 endo. Good to hear that it can happen though. It can seem a very lonely journey when others seem to produce babies with such ease ;)

So sorry to hear you have had the same experience Janey. Look after yourself, and take good care.

My partner is looking into what we do next, which is helping him to feel better about it all ; we will get there. All these wonderful success stories out there are really reassuring.

Wishing you all the very best 💜 X X X X
