I had my follow up today, the doctor's s still trying to piece together how we got pregnant and why we lost it.
But what she did say, was that now we have conceived naturally she is veering more towards trying insemination.
I'm 39 so believe that is why we got to do ivf straight away.
What happens in insemination? What does it entail? What are the chances?
Sorry for all the questions, could do with a lobotomy for this next month🙆

Hi Hidden , So sorry for your journey so far, I have had two friends that have been through insemination (IUI) and I have to say everyone's body is different but it wasn't successful doing it that way for either of them, after 4 attempts of IUI they have gone in to have ICSI and now have there babies but here is a small section which kind or explains IUI.
If you are not using fertility drugs, IUI will be performed between day 12 and 16 of your monthly cycle – with day one being the first day of your period. You will be given blood tests or urine tests to identify when you are about to ovulate.

If you use fertility drugs to stimulate ovulation, vaginal ultrasound scans are used to track the development of your eggs. As soon as an egg is mature, you are given a hormone injection to stimulate its release.
The sperm will be inserted 36–40 hours later. The doctor will first insert a speculum into your vagina, as in a smear test, to keep your vaginal walls apart. A small catheter (a soft, flexible tube) will then be threaded into your womb via your cervix. The best-quality sperm will be selected and inserted through the catheter.
The whole process only takes a few minutes and is usually painless.

The doctor's opinion is as we fell naturally,. insemination could be a better less invasive way forward.
Fingers crossed, Ivf hasn't done it's magic to date and hiperstimulation issues every time, 4 times now👎👎👎👎before falling pregnant naturally. Had an early miscarriage which was gutting but, atleast now know we can get pregnant😍
Had dna and fragmentation testing on sperm and it's fine. Fertilising 95% of all eggs extracted.
Issues were getting the embryos past day 5😞
Oh no 4times, well hopefully IUI will be the one for you lovely, like I said everyone's body's are so different, the fact that your body has caught naturally that's a really good thing and least you can get out of putting your body through the EC etc.

I didn't even get to EC! I was out in the wrong dosage and my body hasn't taken to it, and rather than growing the follies to the right size, the drugs just kept producing more rather than growing then 😡 So wil have to wait for another go when ever that will be as the waiting list for this time round was 6 months.
Such a hard process xx
It's so hard. My first try was cancelled due to severe ohss. I thought feeling like crap was normal😞
Hi Miraclebeliever. Sometimes when we get a bit older, it is thought that it could be better to try and fertilise the egg that "wants" to come out during ovulation, rather than forcing them out. So if you ovulate regularly, hopefully you are expelling a "good" egg, so perhaps IUI might be the way to go. On the other hand some consultants believe that the egg that is ready to be released should be used in a natural cycle of IVF/ICSI to ensure fertilisation occurs. Should your FSH be raised or AMH be low, then it just could be worth trying. Lots to think about, but I'm sure your consultant will give you his/her best advice. Huge luck with whatever you decide.
