Feeling stressed and very lonely

Hi All,

Not sure if this is allowed but didn't know what else to do. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for over 4 years now with no success. Fertility issues down to both of us. We had one cycle if IVF in the UK and then my husband got abroad so put our next cycle on hold for 18 months. We have now taken to paying for ICIS treatment abroad and just had my first 5 injections. Has anyone had treatment abroad and know that it work. Husband is not the most compassionate of people and being thousands of miles from friend and family is tougher than I thought. Any advise on how to get through this successfully. Many thanks

You are totally allowed. This is an incredibly hard process and even harder away from your closest friends and family.

I've not had treatment abroad, but have had 2 cycles of ICSI. Take each step as it comes and try to keep occupied as much as you can. Good luck xx

I have had treatment abroad and had 5 rounds of ICSI. It is hard mainly because of language and just feeling that you might not be getting as much information as say a local but I was very impressed. Do not be afraid to ask as many questions as you feel that you need to.

I also had nobody there for me except hubby as we decided to tell nobody at all as to what we were going through.

You can post on here. have a good rant, update on progress etc.

I only found this forum recently and it is just nice to know that there are other people out there that are going through similar experiences (well it is not of course because it is so hard re what we are going through) but it just makes you feel less on your own.

Good luck with your treatment. Keep us posted

HI Dreamer

Yes we are having treatment in Denmark, 2nd round there this week. My best advice is to take things slowly. I was a bit daft on the first attempt and thought we could go sightseeing the day after egg collection but I felt bad and I had to keep sitting down! It's all an adventure, and when you eventually become pregnant I'm sure you will be so glad that you went through it. Chin up, try to remain positive, just remember why you are doing it x
