First Injection Done!

Hi All, I've read so many of your posts whilst waiting to start my first round of IVF. I've found so much encouragement and information from you all so thank you.

Well yesterday was the official first step and started my buserelin injections. I am a complete needle phone, and felt physical sick thinking about doing the injection. (I nearly passed out when I was practicing on the mound with the nurse!). I prepared the needle and my lovely DH injected me (whilst I was balling my eyes out), no way I could have done it myself.

Just wondering if anyone else started yesterday so we could be cycle buddies? I do feel lonely as although my friends and family have been really supportive they all think it's going to be a walk in the park and we will get that BFP we want. I love their positivity But I'm scared and feel no one really understands.

Xx

Well done, you're on your way! I started injections on Monday so am not too far apart from you. Second cycle of ICSI. You are right in that it is incredibly lonely and visiting this group really does help. It's normal to feel scared, lots of people here to support you so just ask. Good luck! X

Well done. It will get easier. I was a total needle phobic person like seriously bad with passing out, vomiting etc but you know I am totally over my needle phobia and I take that as huge positive from going through ICSI.

Take each day at a time and one step at a time.

It is a lonely experience isn't it. Nobody in my family knows and we have had 6 rounds.I was only recently recommended this forum by my consultant and really do this it helps to know there are other people out there experiencing similar emotions, highs, lows etc.

Good luck with your treatment. I wish you all the very best and hope that you will post how your progress is going.

Hi, LillieF! I'm afraid I cannot relate to the desired cycle buddies. We completed our IVF with donor eggs some time ago in Ukrainian clinic. But I just dropped in to wish you good luck with your treatment. I remember my first injection and it was awful. I've always been a complete worrier and had any kind of needle phobia. So I was super lucky to have my supportive husband by my side too, who did them for me almost for 2 weeks. Then I just pulled myself together and told myself it was enough of trembling and moaning over them. And continued doing them myself finally - lol. ;) Brave ladies we are !! Hugs, hun X

Ah thank you all for your lovely comments. It's getting slightly better day by day, no more tears now. Does feel hard when my friends and family say it'll be worth it in the end when I have a baby.... I want to think positively but I'm also very realistic. X
