Gonapeptyl side effects

Hello ladies,

I had a gonapeptyl injection after a fibroid removal. Has anyone had such injection and how long did it take to wear off and when does the period come back.

Hi Tutsy2002. The drug is a long lasting drug meant to last for one month. Usually no more than 3-4 in any one treatment, so I would think that as you have had your fibroid(s) removed you will hopefully just need the one. Hope it soon wears off, then your period should come back as normal. Good luck! Diane

Thanks u. I hopefully hope so too but I had the injection on 22nd dec and I still haven't seen my period!

Is there any cause for alarm?

Hi Tutsy2002. Hopefully not, but if it hasn't come by the end of this month, then you should see your doctor, just in case you need something to start you off again, but let's hope not. Unfortunately it does happen with no real guarantee how long it will take to leave your system. Won't be permanent, so try not to worry. Good luck! Diane
