Hello,

I just wondered if there was anyone else in the same position as me- it is a lonely journey. My husband's sperm analysis shows no sperm. All of his other tests are fine except he is a carrier of cf.if I come back as not a carrier he will have to undergo micro surgery to see if any swimmers. My husband is very for sperm donor but I have mixed feelings. My first reaction was no way but have had few months to calm done. I want to cry and shout and scream but I have to be strong for my husband. Everyone Is having children around me and all I want is to have a baby with the man I love.

It'll be his child. He will pick the donor with embryologist, hold your hand throughout procedures, hold your hair with morning sickness, and he will cry tears of happiness when he hears his child cry the first time. My hubby had a zero count, had surgeries, and a donor lined up in case life didn't work out.

It's a lot to initially wrap your head around, and you'll need to have a few counselling sessions which will answer your questions. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Will just have to wait and see. Hope things worked out well for you. x

What a hard decision honey, main thing, make it together, be honest with how you both feel. Only do what you both feel is right for you both.

Wishing you loads of luck whatever you both decide will be right for you both x

Thank you, means a lot to me x

Anytime, stay in touch xx

Hi, your situation is exactly the same as my sister's. Her husband is also a carrier of CF & had no sperm. He had micro surgery and they were able to get one swimmer!!! My sister also had problems so she had just one egg but ........on their second attempt they were successful and my little nephew is now 18 months old and a little rascal.....he is our little miracle bundle of joy!!! Never lose hope....all you need is one sperm & one egg!!

We're using an egg sharing donor for our third round of ICSI. It was a hard decision and took me a long time to get my head round but hopefully it'll work this time. Your husband will be the dad, regardless of genetics. As my MIL said (she'd suggested donor sperm after hubby's tests were not good) it's a baby and it'll be loved whatever the genetic origins.

Have a look at the Donor Conception website as this answered lots of my questions about bonding with the baby/babies. You'll have to have implications counselling, at our clinic this was a one off meeting to check we'd explain to the child/ren that we needed help from doctors and a kind lady. We'd already had this discussion before we went.

Good luck.
