Travelling during ivf

Sorry to sound stupid but we are due to start down regulating on the same day that we fly to Athens for a three night city break.

Have been given suprecur in a little bottle and needles etc. in order to administer the injection I have to break the seal on the top and then insert the needle. My question is, after having inserted three needles, and being unable to fit the top back on, will the remaining liquid leak or are they just designed not to. How do I carry this back home with me?

Really sorry for being stupid and I hope someone actually understands what I am trying to say.

Hey, 😀

Your not being silly at all I would say it's fine, the seal is like a plastic skin which is air tight anyways so not to spoil the medicine as it can be used for 2 weeks so I'd just make sure u pack it well I think U'd be fine!!

Although I'm not an expert someone may know better (but I did play with my bottle and tip it upside down a lot... Very childish I know!) lol 😬🙈

Good luck have a lovely trip!

xx

Hi again, sorry to be a pain and bang on but I have another question.

Don't know why but yesterday I took the cap of the suprecur just to understand what I would be doing in advance. So the cap has been broken but no needles have yet pierced the container. I have also sellotaped the. Cap back on. So does this mean that I have 15 days to use from now or is it 15 days from when u first insert a needle?

If you have time and haven't already done so, you may want to ask your clinic for a letter saying you're undergoing treatment which requires injectable medicine. That will help if you want to carry the medicine with you rather than putting it in your checked luggage. I did this when travelling with a ton of syringes, progesterone and estrogen after IVF and the security people were very good about it once I showed them the letter. Enjoy your holiday!

Hi purdy, we had a panic this month as our medication was due to start while on hol. I worried about the temperature in the hold. We contacted the airline and got a doctors note to be able to carry needles and medication on with us. It was absolutely fine, the lid has like a self seal thing so it doesn't spill.

Have a lovely trip xx
