You’re not going to like me saying this, but according to the Department of Health "Medicines Control Agency", it is illegal for a patient to sell or give away prescription only or pharmacy only medicines for another patient. They can only be supplied under the supervision of a pharmacist and if "prescription only", against a doctor's prescription. This is such a shame, as I am certain that you will have stored the drugs correctly, but there is no way of proving that, so hence the law. If the doctor or pharmacist wishes to re-use medicines, the law does not prohibit it, but under their "Code of Ethics", pharmacists must not consider reusing any medicine returned by a patient. Doctors have similar professional standards. The only time they could be considered is if they were kept at the clinic at all times, as would happen on a hospital ward where medicines can be re-used by other patients. Not too sure if you are thinking of having another cycle of treatment?? Then, if still in date you could keep them?? Diane
Hi Diane, thanks alot for this information, i was not aware that it was illegal to pass on. Its not about me going to like it or not. Yes it is all with in date and i have stored the meds correctly. But as they are so expensive, i thought someone can save some money as every bit helps.
