Most areas the answer is no I'm afraid.

in reply to Katrina13

Well as said and unfair as it is, some get through the loop but mostly No Am afraid.

It's totally unfair because couple that's actually really cannot afford it are limited :(

What Katrina13 said is right I'm afraid to say.. I've experinced this myself..However there is a way around this if you're under 35 you can look into egg sharing to get free/ seriously priced reduced ivf.. Obviously a big decision to make..

If you want to know more info on this let me know and i will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have ( I'm doing egg sharing ivf and just waiting to be matched up) Good luck with whatever you decide to do and I'm wishing you the very best with it xxx

I know its awful, so many of us have to fight to get treatment.

However (and I am sorry but you won't like me for saying this) I agree that they do need to prioritise resources for people that do not have any children already. Most of the women on here do not have any and are desperate to become a Mum. I understand that it must be really hard when you want a second and cannot, especially if it is a new relationship, but I do agree that they have to prioritise unless funding is increased.

well i dont agree it was there fault i lost my tubes due to tissue damage when i had my daughter, and yes i have a child and would off had more if the doctors did there jobs,my little girl would love a brother or sister and they are playing god with our lives its not about me im more then happy with my little star,im trying to give what she would like and as i said i will keep firghting and sue if need be,

All of us can blame someone or something. I lost my tubes as a GP wrongly diagnosed and treated me years ago. That doesn't change the fact that I am entitled to only one try at IVF. I saved up and paid for my second attempt and am now pregnant. It is sad to think that this will be an only child that will never have a brother or sister, but I am just grateful that I have a chance to be a mum at all, it's a chance many do not get.

well thats great for you,i think we will just leave it there because i dont find your comments very helpful and everyone is different,i also blame the doctors because it was there fault go luck with ur baby and im sure i will get what i want in time

When I was born I had major surgery on my bowels leaving a lot of scarring to my tubes and therefore have now been told I am unable to conceive naturally, I have always wanted a baby and now have to wait to have my tubes plugged before I can try ivf... I sympathise with your situation every woman should have the choice of how many children she has but you have to understand If there are people out there that have no children at all and may never experience what it is like to carry a child and be called mum or dad, I really hope you manage success with egg sharing, I think however maybe theres only so many resources and money in the pot and totally agree that people like me who have no children should take priority always regardless of who is to blame for infertility.

Im so sorry to hear that you lost your tubes down to medical reason's and lost 2 babies last year, may i ask were they through IVF or naturally? I know it sounds unfair that you can't have IVF on the nhs as due to you already having a child but i do agree with what Katrina13 is also saying the NHS can't give every one free funding and think its fair how they work it out for people that don't have any children at all and desperate to become a mum or parent, I believe they should limit it to just one free cycle on the NHS some places they do 2 or 3.

naturally i had my daughter, but what makes me laugh is that women can have there boobs done on the nhs its a joke,i understand what your saying that some women cant have babys and i feel for them but at the same time thats not my fault,i pay my taxs have done for 15 years like i said this wasnt my fault it was due do the doctors so why should i suffer and my little girl not have a brother or sister, the system needs to be change, not everyone has the same issues so they shouldnt just say you have a child so thats it u cant have no more, this is people's lives we're talking about, they took my life away from me the day i lost my tubes the only thing that kept me together was my little girl and the thought of having another baby and im hearing they can take that from me to what a joke

in reply to samantha1985

I can understand how upset and mad you must feel as it was'nt your fault you lost your tubes and again im so sorry to hear that . But im sorry i don't know how on earth you can compare women that are so desperate in being able to have A BABY and family to them having a boob job on the nhs. We have all payed our taxs over the years. Theres women on here thats had 6 -7 rounds or more of IVF/ ICSI where they have had to pay for it and it doesn't come cheap as it didn't work for them the first time around on the NHS and some of them still don't have a baby they have always wished and hoped for and you can compare there lives in the most thing they have ever wanted A baby to a boob job thats a joke hun. Me and my hubsand was one of the lucky ones it worked for us the first time around we had ISCI on the nhs and now have our first child on the way after many, many years of TTC we would had loved twins at my first scan at 6 wks i was abit disappointed finding out it wasn't twins after we left the clinic my husband asked me what was up with me as i did'nt look very happy like i should had been after my first scan when i said i was hoping for our twins, his words were one it better than none we have a healthy baby growing in there , and were just grateful were going to be a mum and dad. Like what Katrina13 said it is sad to think that it will probably be an only child with out a brother or sister to love but were just grateful were going to be parents after so many years some people don't even get that chance. I think the system is right the only way the government should change it to Stop people having one baby after another just for benenfits and kids that are having kids we believe the government should have new laws no more than 3/ 4 kids each couple and kids that are far to young to have a baby should be made to have 2 chooses for couples that can't have children.

sorry i meant what you said jess1981.x

in reply to samantha1985

I know it's a really unfair system and I don't agree with it.. I know lots of woman on here denied funding coz partners have children from a previous relationships..it's just as bad to deny a man the right to be a parent too .. I think if one of you isn't a biological parent the nhs should value that persons human right to be a parent..

Maybe you're be lucky and your ccg will one of the very few that do fund it.. Best to contact your ccg to find out at least if it's a no you won't waste much too much time waiting around to be told it's a no..like I did I wasted a good year or so to realize I couldn't get funding hate for you to go through that too.. There does seem to be a definite lack of communication between gps and fertility clinics..

Be happy to give you any info on egg sharing just let me know if you want to know anything x

Good luck I hope everything goes well xxx

My boyfriend already has a son so we were worried about this but we were still given the nhs allocation. Its a postcode lottery unfortunately

Hi Samantha1985, this can be an issue. Do you already have a child or is it your partner? Where I live it depends whether the child lives with you or not. It would be worth asking for the NHS criteria in your area x

Hi Samantha1985, I just wanted to wish you luck. It sounds like you've been through a terrible time suffering miscarriages and also losing your tubes. While you are extremely blessed to have a daughter from a previous relationship I doubt this los any less painful for you. I can understand you wanting to extend your family particularly since your partner does not have children of his own. Take care x
