Weight gain?

hi everyone! Just started injections today and I've committed the ultimate syn of googling side effects! Do the drugs make you gain a lot of weight? Is it just water bloat? Thanks in advance!! Xx

Hi Katied84, Don't worry they won't make you gain 2-3 stone or nothing like that or make you look like a hot air balloon by the end , you may get a liitle bit of a belly by doing them, make sure tho you drink your 2lt of water a day. Wish all the bestl on your journey. XX

Wecolme to the site. Where you doing your injections? belly of thigh? i did most of mine in my belly and by the end i had to start doing them in my thigh as your will find your belly will harden and it will get abit more painfull from doing your injections, i had a lovely black bruise on the one side of my belly from doing them. Sorry i don't mean to worry you but don't worry if you do get some bruising or bleed abit from doing them its all normal and nothing to worry about. XX

No u didn't worry me, I've been warned of the bruising from the nurses! I'm starting with my tummy but might change to thigh if it gets sore! Thanku for your reply! Xx

Hi Katie,

I didn't put on weight but my tummy became bloated, it went back to normal after stopping the drugs.

I gained 3.5lbs whilst doing my injections, and my belly was rock hard. Lost is straight away once eggs were collected though xx

Thanku! I've read things online that said people gained about 10-12lbs per cycle, scared me lol! Xx

Hiya and welcome

I gained a few pounds while doing them and also a few bruises. Make sure you alternate sides.

Should go back to normal after you EC good luck fingers crossed xxx

no you shouldn't gain any weight. I felt bloated and through the 2 week wait but when I could start swimming again the bloated just went. Don't worry. I didn't bruise either and I was on top dose of meds. Just make sure you move the injection sites. I didn't use my legs as there are quite muscular and the needles are quite big and need to go all in

Aww Thanku. I think I'm on a low dose as got quite a high AMH. Got my 1st bloods tomorrow so will know more then! Good luck for everything xx
