Nerves are kicking in now!

I am scheduled for egg collection on Monday/Tuesday. Have 12 follicles and all is looking good, but starting to get nervous now. I am not entirely sure what exactly it is that I am nervous about, think it is all just becoming very real!

its a step closer to a possible pregnancy so of course your nervous and excited at the same time.. the procedure its self isnt as

Bad as you would think..its helps that your put to sleep.. I hope they collect lots of healthy eggs..

I have been told I will be sedated which the nurse said is like downing 3 double gin & tonics very fast! I don't know if I will be asleep though.

Hi, my last scan is tomorrow morning so we are very close!! I feel like time is going SO slowly at the moment, can't stop thinking about it, the only escape is a book!

Had my scan and they've not progressed as much over past 2 days so now looking at wed for egg collection frustrating ! I'm measuring 10/12s at the moment. What are yours ?

On Monday mine were: 8,8,8,8,8,7,7,6,6,6,5,4. I will have another scan tomorrow, they should have progressed a lot by now, I seriously hope so. Got to remember though, we only need one!!

Hi girls, just wanted to wish you all the best for the coming days. It's nerve wracking I know only too well. I'm sure you're all already equipped with the things that will make it that wee bit easier. Relaxation CDS, a good book, your journal etc.... One thing I'd recommend, put some good comedy on to your Walkman to listen to straight after transfer. My husband&i listened together while I put my feet up for 15 minutes before leaving the clinic. And it just really lightened our moods. That one worked for us! It depends on the clinic as to how heavily you're sedated. I was out for the count the first two times, but our next clinic just mildly sedated me, so I was able to feel the procedure,but I felt very relaxed and it was all very manageable. Call them before and talk about it if you're scared or unsure. God knows, we've been through enough emotional pain without needing excess stress on top. Love to u all and best of luck, xxx

Thank you Leah, I will ask the clinic tomorrow about the sedation. As its NHS they will probably give me as little as possible At my last op the anaesthetist was a burly Russian man - I joked to him was he going to give me some drugs or just hit me over the head with a brick to save money - thankfully I got the drugs

Had a whirl wind of a week.....last Thursday I had my last scan I was on 4 ampules of menopause by then!!!, Monday (10th) had my egg collection with 15 collected, Tuesday that call......6 folicles (yay) and had my implant today!!!

This is our 2nd attempt at full IVF......the egg collection is the easiest thing out of all of this process you don't know anything about it and you are told straight away how many eggs have been collected. Just relax, keep positive it will be fine!!!! Good luck ladies xxx

Well just got back from my 2nd scan and I now have 17 follicles: 5,5,5,5,7,7,9,10,10,11,11,11,13,13,14,14,15.

Not anywhere near the right size so I need to go back for another scan on Monday, EC definitely not before the middle of next week. Feeling very stressed and emotional at the moment!!

Don't panic - I was told on Thursday on only had 4 mature follicles suitable for EC the following Monday....they took out 15 and 6 fertilised!!! Try not to stress and calm (easier said than done I know). When they're ready to come out they will!!!! Keep positive!

Im new to this site and ive just read this post and wanted to reply.

Ive donated eggs altruistically 3 times and every time i was absolutely fine when i had EC. Afterwards i felt slightly tender period type pains but i was fine. Just take it easy on the day of EC .. best of luck xx

Happy birthday maccerpops !! Hope you are having a gorgeous relaxing day all about you I had a 5th scan today and although I've got a couple at 20 now some are at 12 still so giving me an extra day to grow. Thursday is now EC day confirmed. They are calling me tomorrow with the time to do the pregnyl and then off we go ! Hope all goes well with you this week too hun xxx
