Following your NHS diagnosis, how long did it take for your prescribed treatment to commence?

Over 2 years!
I was offered IUI first which I started literally the month after my consultation and then it took 6 months after to start ivf
Still not started yet but should be in April, so from going to NHS taken a year nearly,
So glad you're doing this poll! Ours has officially been over a year but we've been having tests for over 2 years. NHS communication is ridiculously confusing and different consultants say different things. Does anyone else feel like they are putting you on hold in case you miraculously conceive?
It's been 14 months for us! Due to the constant tests and waiting lists!
Waited too long over a year for treatment for unexplained infertility had IVF/GIFT twice which failed as the eggs were too small at 20mm but never gave up it was very hard on our relationship as unexplained infertility consultant was baffled and we were upset not knowing the reason why we were childless after all the tests showed we could be parents with the right drugs to produce more eggs but it still did not work. Not being pregnant after going through the procedure is heartbreaking when nothing is at the end. Thats why we only did Gift twice. I feel strongly I should have had treatment sooner at the age of 24yrs but the Consultant said he did not know what he was treating as he could not find what the problem was and we were told to adopt and to keep trying.
Waiting list was far too long and we had to join the fundraising group to help raise money for the scanner which we did.
I strongly feel that when couples go to the Infertility Clinic that a Donation should be made for every attended appointment say £1 per visit for more technology which the NHS can not fund.
Living without a child is heartbreaking its like losing a child you never had so you are in breavement its part of your life is missing. Nothing can replace the loving space and counselling could not help either.
Somehow you have to face the fact and find something to replace the emptyness.
My process was very drawn out - mainly down to having pcos and taking so long between periods for rounds of clomid and day 21 bloods... finally I was seen by the head consultant and was told off about my weight and that's why treatment hadn't been working effectively- my weight was never mentioned by any of the other consultants I had seen my bmi at that point was 0.2 over their ideal. This was after 3.5 years from our first appointment. Anyway life changed abit and I focused on different things while bringing down my bmi- I fell pregnant out of the blue with no meds and having only dropping my bmi by 0.7. So hang in everyone there's hope for us all. My bundle is now 6 months old. Good luck
The NHS failed to diagnose me with PCOS and never offered any follow up for my husband to check why he has no sperm. The NHS have been absolutely redundant in our case.
I'm not sure what point you mean by 'diagnosis'... with unexplained infertility, is there ever one set 'diagnosis point'?
Opted for treatment abroad as my local clinic were rubbish so disinterested because of my age
2+ years, one miracle pregnancy in the middle which ended in miscarriage but then again that was not the nhs's fault

12 months and only because of my gp fighting for me to get the help we wanted x
That was for laprascopy and dye test and then chlomid if I need ivf don't know how long it will take because I'm so scared of even putting our names down for it x
14 months, but that was from GP appointment to starting first cycle. We had to lose weight and then had 3 month wait to treatment (predicted 4-6 month wait). We started losing weight after go appointment and lost combined 5 stone.
About two years. Absolute disaster of lost referrals and incompetence. In the end the only way I got the ball rolling was by phoning almost every day for a couple of months.
