Bleeding 2 days after normal dating scan (12+5)

Hi everyone, I had my dating scan on Weds and everything looked good and normal. We’ve just come away for a few nights and after feeling some dampness, found some blood in my underwear and a bit more when i wipe (darkish red). My midwife has said to wear a pad and keep an eye out - but I’m now so so worried. We only just told close family and i feel like I’ve jinxed things! Anyone had something similar and it’s been ok? Xx

I had a little bleeding after my 12wk scan too. In fact every time I had a flipping scan I got a scare.🤦🏼‍♀️ However it was OK....I've got twins. Big hugs, hoping it disappears quickly! Take it easy.xxx

Ps I just looked up my panic old post and I was around 13wks when I had this....had red, then pink and went to brown which kept coming and going.xx

thanks so much - that’s reassuring! So hard not to worry and it’s the first night we’ve come away so even more stressful. Am hoping and praying there’ll be no more x

that’s reassuring thank you. It’s still continuing, not really filling a pad but bright red when i go to the loo. Struggling to be seen at the hospital right now so we’ll see how it goes x

It could be a few things causing it . I would be reassured that your dating scan was normal. Sometimes if the placenta sits lower which is totally normal at this stage then that can cause some bleeding. It’s not formally checked until 20 weeks so wouldn’t necessarily be mentioned at booking. Sometimes if the cervix is irritated that can give some bleeding too. Both things can happen with no issue to baby. Hope they can see you soon.x

I had about a week of bleeding at 16 weeks which scared the life out of me! It was on and off and no one could say why it happened but it stopped on its own and I’m currently 22 weeks

thanks everyone, bleeding calmed down on Saturday and turned darker. We booked a private scan and baby was happy with no sign of bleeding around the womb so we think it must have been from the cervix. Stressful times but looks like all ok for now x
