I feel like a fraud

I had a miscarriage in December. I didn’t realise until afterwards. I had about ten positive pregnancy tests and three or so negative ones. I then bled heavily with lots of clots, the bleeding stopped completely after two weeks. I read there was nothing the doctor could do so I didn’t bother going, I just waited it out. I went to the GP as I was still getting cramps and she was very dismissive and just did a pregnancy test which was negative and told me that I need to get on some contraception (I gave birth last October).

I feel like a fraud because the miscarriage hasn’t been recorded, I’m still getting cramps but surely that can’t be from the miscarriage or else I’d be very unwell by now. There’s no point going to the doctor now is there?

Hi sorry for your loss, if your still having cramps after a few weeks tbh you shouldn’t be, maybe ring the EPU explain they might scan u to make sure everything is out or give u some advice/info.

Well, I think you should have gone to the doc and got a USG to confirm it's all expelled out once the bleeding stopped. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss... hugs!! Depending on the stage of gestation an MC might or might not need DnC but then only by USG after the whole process you can truly be sure that you do not need a DnC. Well TBH I did the same thing when I had a loss but later got to know it wasn't the right way clinically on a free fertility conference I attended a short while ago. Though you're right that had it been any leftover things would have been really sick by now but at the same time you cannot rule out the cramps to be the symptoms right. I think you should go to the doc... rest it's entirely up to you. Don't get bogged down by the thought of "fraud" or "cheating" it's nothing like that whether or not you go to the doc.

I'm so sorry for your loss..I started testing at day 4dp5dt knowing it was early but got my BFP in 6dp5dt. I did start spotting a few days after that at 8dp5dt and it stopped after 2 days. My lines kept getting darker so it helped me. I went in for my beta 14dp5dt. I wanted to test myself because I had a whole slew of people who knew we were going through IVF and that I would know soon. I didn't want to receive bad news that day and then tell people when they asked. People are so nosy..I know the pain of mc. I sympathize you so much..This is no good your dr didn't make any records of your mc. But this might be also because you didn't do straight to him when bleeding started. I suppose dr could want you pass some blood test to see what was going on..I do think there is point in seeing dr once again. This is your fertility health you should be aware of everything. The thing which worries me is that you're still having cramps..I'm sure that's not ok. Try to get your consultation as soon as possible.

I'm sorry to hear about your mc. And this frustrates to hear how GP treated you..He must have been more helpful and supportive. Mc is always a heartbreaking experience. Finally, let me congratulate you on your LO. He's the one to get fully concentrated on now. And remember your baby needs a healthy mom!! So you must take good care of yourself. If not the GP you've used to visit for your consultations before. then look for another, more responsible one. God bless you and your family!
