Any good news out there?

I’ll be going to the doctor in 3 days to get all my test done to find out what exactly is going on. I found out about my liver by me going into the ER due to a dull ache under my right rib. While I was there the doctor told me my liver was 19inches, looks smooth with no Elevated blood test. Ive completely changed my diet and I’ve been exercising. I’ve lost weight.

I’ve been doing SO much research and from what I’ve gathered … nothing is certain. I was wondering if anyone had good news. Has anyone reversed this thing? I’m scared. I just want to know where I’m at on this scale.

You are already on the right track by eating healthy foods and losing weight. Keep it up - it makes a difference. When I went to the ER for RUQ pain, they never even mentioned my liver, so at least your docs found that. Now see what else your doc says in three days, but continue to be your biggest advocate, as the docs won't do it for you!!

Thank you! Your right about my doctor. She doesn’t seem to even want to do an ultrasound. I just changed my doctor because my other decided not to even see patients face to face. I feel as if I might have to get another one if we continue down this road. I am my biggest advocate! Thank you for that

My fibrosure test had previously indicated F3 Fibrosis. We ran a ton of lab work and it indicates more F2. I ran all the numbers through the FIB 4 calculator and it seems to concur. Irregardless, I now have a new lifestyle with exercise and diet. Losing weight/exercise DOES help.

It;s hard, I know. I was quite depressed about my diagnosis. but it did make me change my bad diet and start exercising.

Yes, there is good news. For many of us, diet and healthy changes can and have reversed some of the damage done by NAFLD and NASH. I have gone from F4 to F3. I am continuing to eat healthily and exercise. Working on reducing stress. I go for an MRI in a couple of weeks to see if there is cirrhosis and, if so, how much. I am hopeful that I will continue to improve. While there are still little to no treatments there are clinical trials and, since I believe in science, I am hopeful that those, too will pay off.

Stay positive and live your best life. If you are breathing there is hope!
