I really need some motivation today. I would like to ask...does anyone have any real stories about people who were able to reverse Fibrosis stage 2?
I've been doing some research online and I'm reading so much conflicting information. Some say that Fibrosis is not reversible...others say it is. I'm not sure what to believe.
I know that you can reverse fatty liver...but is fibrosis reversible too? My Fibroscan scores are below.
Fibroscan: CAP 320, kPa 8.7
Bloodwork: AST 13, ALT 14, ALP 61, Bilirubin 0.8, Albumin 4.3 Cholesterol and Glucose levels are normal.
I was diagnosed last week and I have already made a lot of changes. I'm eating clean and exercising. After reading that Fibrosis might not be reversible...I'm feeling kind of defeated already.
Has anyone here been able to reverse fibrosis stage 2 or knows anyone who has?

Yes - but here's the good and bad news. If you watch the Paris Nash Conference Part 2 on You Tube, they have a chart. I actually printed it and keep it on my desk for motivation. The good news - it says if you lose 10% of your body weight, you will 1) have a 90% NASH resolution; 2) an 81% fibrosis regression; and 3) a 100% steatosis improvement. The bad news - only 10% of the patients achieve and keep off the weight loss. So there's hope - as long as you do the work. Also it's not all or nothing. If you achieve a 7% reduction in weight, you'll still get a partial regression. Get going!!!!
I am in the same boat as you. I was recently diagnosed as stage F2 fibrosis and I am doing the best I can to lose the weight (need to lose about 65 pounds.) I am fasting 16 hours a day and then eating green protein shakes, beans, broccoli, salmon, tuna with a little mayo, grilled chicken, kale, black bean and lentil soups and other veggies. I allow myself a couple handfuls of Doritos A-day just because I need something, and a cheese stick. This will get harder for me in the warmer months because my family friends and lifestyle revolve around being at the Lake eating and drinking so I am going to have to say no most of the time. I will let you know what my tests say in the future, if I've reversed it or not. I believe you CAN reverse it somewhat.
You can definitely slow it down and I think at stage 2 fibrosis probably reverse a stage. I was confirmed NASH stage 3 fibrosis May 2018 and my FibroScan has shown great improvement since then with eating differently and losing some weight slowly. Don’t despair! You can do it
What is your kpa and cap scores now? I ask because I started with Nash stage f2-3 and stenosis f3 kpa 10.1 and cap 315. This year I am at Kpa 295 and Cap of 9.5. I am wondering how long it takes to reverse it.
