Is this the “new normal”?

It’s the weekend, and I’m waiting for appointments next week. I’ve cut out sugars and caffeine, etc., so on top of being “newly sick”, I feel horrible. My stomach is not working normally, everything comes out immediately. Is this the “new normal”? I feel horrible. Sweating, my neck muscles are in stiff pain, heartburn, nausea. I’m no longer projectile vomiting, but this is rough.

I need a biopsy to confirm but the ER doctor thinks it’s NASH, Stage 2. I can’t believe how this “next stage” happened. If you have a fatty liver, please diet and take care of yourself now!! I could have never imagined the degree of “uncomfortable symptoms”.

Do you still have your gallbladder? It is right there with the liver. It could be pushing on the liver. Just a thought for all the pain suddenly. I'm in stage 4 and I don't have that much pain, but then we are all different.

I had a blocked bile duct and enlarged gallbladder, which was the first ever of any symptoms (which it was a symptom looking back on it). Then, months go by with nothing. Acid reflux starts again and flank pain, I go to Mayo (I knew something was wrong). I had a CT, Bloodwork, anal manometry, Bravo, etc dome in August. Everything was fine. Sadly, the doctor didn’t even mention a fatty liver.

We go to universal and back, and wham! My bloodwork still looked “okay”, but the bomb of ascites and fibrous liver was documented. Since then, I’ve felt horrible and “full”, had high BP, new muscle cramps in legs and neck. It was over the course of a few days. I go to a new GI today—asked for a heptalogist. I’m literally dying. My guess is I have late stage cirrhosis. I’m helping my kids online now, messaged the Mayo doctor a million times, I’m scared too death and barley can keep my head up. I haven’t slept in a day.

Hi, i would hope you were feeling better. If your labs are good and your albumin is normal, you don't have ascites. hope u feel better.

That’s the one thing I know for sure. I got a second opinion yesterday. There are ascites there but neither doctor thinks it’s from my liver—that they both think is still in fatty stages based on the 2 CTs.

I did more bloodwork, again, yesterday (And passed out while giving it). At present, I have a few of the beginning stages of cirrhosis but missing the end: menestrual problems (fibroids), now a prolapsed hemorrhoid—OMG horrible, high BP, ascites, muscle cramps, my head hurts, etc., They are concerned about the ascites. I have an ultrasound Wednesday to make sure the fluid is still there (if it is—they will draw the fluid out to test) with Mayo and pushed until they referred me to Hepatology. They don’t quite understand, being I don’t have a gallbladder. Only possibilities thrown out are a burst ovarian cysts or bile duct to liver blocked. They truly don’t know. They keep saying the ascites could be from “other things.” I feel like I should be in the hospital NOW, but it’s “wait until Wednesday”. I’ve read bloodwork can be lagging or be normal and still have cirrhosis—I think they would know that?
