Hello,

I’m new the community and I was recently diagnosed with a fatty liver.. I’m 18 years old. I’m worried and depressed about it. I figured if I joined I can get more knowledge in how to keep a clean diet and exercise. I don’t know much about a fatty liver so please educate in way you can. I’m open minded and a great listener.

(:

Welcome to this fantastic forum. Everyone's great on here. A healthy diet is a must. Plenty of protein, low fat. No alcohol. I can't think of anything else but I'm sure someone will be along to help you. Take care Lynne

Glad you came. A lot of young people are learning that they have a fatty liver. You are fortunate to have been told. So many don't learn of their risk until they become ill. We have a lot on information on the website. Educating yourself is the first step so here are a couple of links to get you started.

You should be concerned. You are also extremely lucky to find out at such an early stage. Now at your age as long as there is no substance abuse, You can actually reverse the effects of fatty liver disease. Now is when you can do something. Me I'm stage 4 and I'm trying to do everything that I can as a stage 4 NASH. My journey at this point could have been avoided if I was aware of having a fatty liver. At this point lose weight. Of course diet is important. And most definitely diet can affect your weight in a positive way or in a negative way. Please Lose the weight. If you're obese, and you are not a substance abuser and you are not on heavy medications, loose weight. Diet and exercise. You have been given an early warning. By the way , in addition to never drinking, worrying about this is worse than drinking. Remember you can do this. Action is you corse.

Eat vegetables & fruits, cut back on sugar, alcohol & fatty foods. Lose weight by exercise or walking.

Great advice on here. Try not to worry too bad. Talk to your Dr. if you are able. You are way too young to worry about your liver. Be aware, but you should be 100% fine if you do not drink a lot do drugs and eat right. Good job looking after your health at such a young age. Happy New Year😀

I appreciate y’all for commenting and giving me advice. I’ve changed the way I eat now and it really hard but I’m going strong. I also work out so far so good. I try not to worry so much anymore. Thank you all 💕
