As mentioned before on this site, I have been on a liquid diet for over 2 months now- have not touched a piece of food since. In that time period, I have averaged near 7 pounds week in weight loss. About 3 weeks into the diet, I noticed a feeling of pressure, as if something is stuck at the bottom of my throat. Nothing is there. The feeling goes away after a few days. I'm thinking this is most likely GERD because I do have other symptoms like gas and so on, or could this be the beginning of varices? What are some of the very beginning symptoms of varices as they grow worse? Anyone have any experience? Thanks in advance.

Suggest that you should really discuss how you are feeling with a doctor.

I don't have a personal experience with them but most people are unaware. They are a result of portal vein pressure so are unlikely to come and go. Don't know if that helps you
What liquid are you on ? I have tried a few and the salt contact was high. I have stage 4 NASH & really prefer to be on liquid mainly if not totally. Please reply so I can get started
THANKS,
