Every organization needs volunteers. We are doing a pilot research study in Houston using FibroScan screening for unidentified fatty liver (NAFLD AND NASH) liver disease. These diseases are usually silent and people often become ill before they learn that their liver is damaged. Our goal is to provide an early warning of possible disease.
We need a few volunteers to help with the patient flow and education about liver disease. The ideal person would be a liver transplant recipient able to talk with people about the disease but compensated NASH patients are also good candidates. The most important qualification is a desire to make a difference for people who have or are at risk for liver disease.

At the moment we are hoping to find some people in Houston to help educate people who will just be learning about liver disease. We will be screening high risk patients with no history of liver disease. People who suddenly learn they are at risk will benefit if they can connect with local people who know what the facts are. This is the pilot study for a plan to role this out nationally so we hope to be in your area at some point.
