Hi sweet. I’ve also had brain surgery (just over a year ago). I’ve been going through facial surgery with plastics. From my own point of view. . . The facial numbness, hasn’t gone (I don’t know if it will). Of course everything has stopped atm. You will find that walking is a bit of a problem and very slow ( I’m trying to build up).

The dizziness, might be a sight problem?

Don’t be disheartened. I’m sure you’ve been through a lot already. Be kind to yourself :-) X

Thank you . I’m in hospital at the moment so hopefully the scans I’ve had will show something or hopefully nothing . This all started with a huge aneurysm and I’ve had two procedures but the last one has knocked me for six . Totally fed up right now .

Oh Shon. I’m so sorry to hear your news :-( Lets hope the scans show something and nothing :-)

Something, because you want to understand why you feel so rubbish, and to sort it out.

And nothing, because you don’t need to be going through anything else :-)

My last brain tumour removal operation knocked me for six too, and has caused all sorts of problems :-( but I try to keep optimistic :-)

Lots of luck with your scans, and keep my fingers crossed for you X

Oh no! Let’s hope they’re ok. I know you won’t mind waiting. I hope the night is a quieter one for you. Tomorrow will soon be here, and hopefully you’ll have answers. I’ll bet it’s a strange place to be right now :-( Take great care XX

Had the scan . Shows the brain is being pushed and another aneurysm is forming . I’m still in hospital as nothing happens at the weekends with the big wigs . Enjoy your week end if possible Shona xx

Hi sweet. Great to hear from you. There’s never any big wigs at the weekends and the under-lings won’t make any major decisions, so it sounds like you’ll be there until “at least” Monday. By the way I’m old NHS lol. I retired at 55 (I’ll be 60 this year, and my name is Marie) My brain tumour removal was (first off) last February, and then again last May, and cause lots of other problems. It’s an ongoing issue, but we have to keep our chins up :-) In a way it’s good they have found the new aneurysm, and hopefully have a plan to deal with that (there’s always a plan). You take great care of yourself. I’m sure it’s a strange place to be right now. XX

Plans —-so they tell me lol .i was told last September that the procedure was a last ditched effort as the aneurysm is so big . The first one was okay and once I got over the stroke like effects I started to walk all be it with a frame which I don’t mind but this frozen face and dizziness gets me down . Really bad double vision today . Hopefully I’ll get some better news by next Saturday . With this Coronavirus there are no visitors and the hospital is so quiet . I’ll be in touch when I hear anything else Marie . I’m 66 and look every bit of it now 😂

I miss mascara so much lol xxxx

Hi Shona :-) It must feel awful :-( sounds like they might leave this aneurysm? The frozen face I can totally relate to (I’m the same :-( and still going through things). Everything is halted with this Coronavirus, but I hope to get things moving again, at some strange. The dizziness is not good, do they feel that the aneurysm is causing this? It must be really strange, with not having any visitors, and the only thing you have to look forward to is the next meal :-( I hope it’s roast today, having said that how are you with eating? I know I had a real struggle in the beginning, and dribble a bit now. With only having the use of one side too. My visitors were very sparse because I was going though treatment at Plymouth, and for people to visit was a nightmare (as it was a 5 hour round trip ish). So I told people not to come. My partner did visit the odd time, but with work commitments, and our dog (it made things very difficult). It’s such a thing for you to go through, and you NEED the support of visitors. I hope the other patients with you are ok, and no-one wants to be there, so it’s a difficult situation, and such difficult times. You enjoy your lunch darling, and keep your chin up :-) Take great care XX

Hi Marie, had a little lunch but it’s so awkward to chew. Lost my taste years ago after chemo and radiotherapy. I get totally fed up with people telling me I need to eat but if certain foods are rank would they eat it? Lol today I’m losing my sight in the right eye , och I’m just fed up

Hopefully I’ll see a neurosurgeon tomorrow and he has a plan lol

Take care . My husband will be enjoying the peace and quiet not being able to visit . XxShona

Hi Shona. It’s so awful when everything you eat has no taste :-( I used to try a biscuit (quarter at a time) just so you’re eating something, or maybe a little custard (if they have any) but if you don’t feel like anything then try and drink plenty. It’s such a horrible time for you, and please mention about your eye. I too hope you see the Neurosurgeon tomorrow (they’ll definitely have a plan). Your husband will be at his wits end with worry, and I’m sure he would love to visit you, but keeping away, he’s keeping you safe.

You’re feeling totally “fed up”, and it’s boring, but you’re in the best place :-) keep that chin up and remember you’re a worrier, and will overcome anything. Make sure you mention that eye. Lots of love XX

It was the second procedure that started the eye and face off . Going to hear tomorrow what their plan is . That’s when they talked about Bells Palsy . Brilliant talkers lol 😂

Hi Shona. I spent the day in bed yesterday (not a good day) :-( That’s great news, about a plan and although we’re both in for the long haul, I’m sure things will get better :-) It’s brilliant that they’re there for you to talk to, and remember to ask any questions (even if you think they’re silly). It’s been raining here in Devon, so hopefully it’ll clear up later. How are you getting on with the eating and drinking, I hope you’re managing little bits. Take care, and stay safe Marie X

Morning Marie, I hope you are feeling much better today . I got home last night not one bit better but better in my own bed. I still have to go to neurologist as it seems there might be another aneurysm growing or it might be a cyst . Again , it’s a wait and see scenario . My face is becoming frozen all over and the doctors at the local hospital have never seen one so big . The experts haven’t seen one like it either so lots of discussions to be had .

Take care and hope you feel better . Shona xx

Hi Shona. Great to hear that you’re home, and you’ll sleep a bit better in your own bed 😀 I’m so sorry things are not improving for you. How are you managing with your eating these days? I’m worried about you weight-wise. I’m sure they’ll keep looking at the scans to see if they can determine what’s going on, and the next move. I suppose it’s how much risk is involved, with the next move, and they’ll want to keep you as safe as possible 😍 Things are much better at this end (thank you 😁) . I was just watching “Captain Tom” OMG what an incredible man 🤗 Things at brightening up down this end weather-wise. At home at least you’ll have a different outlook, and if it’s bright, it’ll make you feel a little better. Stay safe sweet, and relax at home 🥰XX
