I've had it twice. Once in July 2014 and then September 2016. Pretty unlucky! How are your symptoms?

Hi, bloody painful! My mouth has not dropped as much this time but the eye has. My eyelid is pushing my eye shut. Been to dr and got all the meds.

Yes. My left side went first and, just as it recovered, my right side went. Had all sorts of tests to try to find a cause and all proved negative. Eventually my plumber noticed that my gas boiler was leaking carbon monoxide. If you google CO poisoning it pulls up many cases where Bells Palsy is triggered by it. The hospital consultant was not impressed as there were no clinical studies to back it up. I got my boiler replaced and it has not happened again. If you have a gas boiler, or any exposure to one, get a carbon monoxide detector.

I have a carbon monoxide detector so that’s all good. Have you fully recovered?

Pretty much. Face is still a little stiff on the right side which was the second to be affected. The first A&E I went to referred me to a larger unit who dismissed it as 'just Bells Palsy' and didn't give me any steroids and maybe that's why there still something not right. My face is level though and I've not had anything in the last four years.
