Is this Bell's palsy? It is normal for symptoms to peak a few days in.

Thank you. I was diagnosed Friday, woke up with slurred speech and right sides numbness. CT scan ruled out stroke. Speech was back to normal Saturday however eye dry and sore. Drops were prescribed. Sunday not bad head feeling heavy and tired. Yesterday head felt like it was going to explode under the pressure behind eye and ear.

Hi sorry to hear you have Bell's palsy I got it 11months ago I'm 95per cent better now .the pain is normal 😥i can remember the pain was so bad I screamed in pain I found it worst at night I got some co.codamol of doctor I was told even though the pain was so bad this was a good sign as it was all the nerves starting to work again a friend of mine recommend that it was better to sleep in a reclainer chair than in bed and I found this eased the pain a lot .my friend also told me to remember I had Bell's palsy and was very poorly and to get as much rest as I could and there is a light at the end of the tunnel and u will be fine x

Sorry for my late reply. It's good you were given the steroids. Hopefully you are starting to feel better now.

Sorry to hear you have BP and are feeling so poorly. I was diagnosed 27 days ago but am seeing small, steady signs of improvement particularly around the mouth area. Have also had some pain but this has calmed down so was interested to see the previous comment about it showing signs of recovery.

The main advice seems to be avoid stress and get plenty of rest particularly in the early days and I would second that from my experience. Steroids also helped I think. Might be a cliche but stay positive and patient - it will get better x
