Good PMR specialist in Bristol/WestonSM?
He didn’t even know about the paper written by the BRI team (Quick & Kirwan, 2012) He also put me on
Etoricoxib
last year that caused vaginal bleeding and I had to go through the whole womb cancer check drama for them to thankfully conclude that it had been caused by the

Pain Medication after Laparoscopy
Due to my other medical issues I can’t take any NSIADS including: ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, celecoxib, mefenamic acid,
etoricoxib
& indomethacin. I normally take just cocodamol and rest when having bad flare ups. Along with expensive medical patches to sooth the areas.

any advice welcome…
If I take pankillers recent one prescribed
Etoricoxib
it dulls the pain but I have to take most days. I have been trying to get some help I have an appointment this month. I have read lots of articles and called versus arthritis. I am also now logging my pain.

Zoladex and HRT
I have been on butec slow release patches for around 6 months, along with dihydracodine and
etoricoxib
. I am now on oral morphine and just feel terrible. If my pain is manageable I feel hungover, nauseous and am awake all night but tired all day.

Any NICE guidelines?
I want to know at what stage I should get more than painkillers (currently on
etoricoxib
as needed which does help and may be all i need for now, but i worry about disease progression).

I’m new to this forum
Was admitted to hospital last June and was taken off naproxen and put on
etoricoxib
because of evidence of past stroke on scan. Last year was a roller coaster. Now have been diagnosed with AF and on apixaban and bisoprolol and am only allowed paracetamol or co-codamol which isn’t managing the pain.

rheumatologist swapped pred for NSAID
She has had me reduce the pred quicker than I would have preferred, and added in an anti inflammatory (first Naproxen and now
etoricoxib
) to help me off the pred. She then booked me in for an MRI scan of spine and pelvis prior to which I had to be on no meds for 4 days.

Would you class this scenario as effectively managed?
I got a new rheumatologist who upped me to top dose methotrexate plus
etoricoxib
and amitripylene for pain management. A couple of months on I am pain-free and I am grateful for this every day.

Meloxicam or Arcoxia?
Hi, my GP has suggested I try Meloxicam instead of my consultant-prescribed 60mg Arcoxia/
Etoricoxib
, because even with Omeprazole my tummy feels sore after 3 consecutive days on Arcoxia so I have to pause pain relief.

Etoricoxib?
Is that a side effect of
Etoricoxib
? How quickly should I notice an improvement with
Etoricoxib
? It doesn’t sound like a very nice drug and I’m inclined to stop taking it as soon as possible if it’s not helping. Thank you

Differing Rheumatologist opinions and Alendronic Acid
One thing I would say is that since taking the large doses of
Etoricoxib
my PMR seems to have improved - so now I am wondering if he is actually right and I no longer have PMR but something else!

DOCTORS’ ADVICE FOR SAFE FASTING ON YOM KIPPUR (OR ANYTIME)
Wimpfheimer coauthored a study published in 2010 in Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain about the effect of the drug
etoricoxib
(similar to ibuprofen) on a fasting-related headache commonly called “Yom Kippur Headache” or “First-of-Ramadan Headache.”

Taking a pred break..
Hi all, I had a repeated high potassium blood test recently, and thinking it might be linked to some of my meds (propranolol/
etoricoxib
) I decided to take a break from most of my meds, including pred.
